I've got a 2005 Rocket III in Cardinal Red and I'm trying to colour match the paint. (I triked it and now I have two extra rear mudguards and a few other new bits)

My paint shop is having a terrible problem matching the colour, despite getting the "official" paint codes from triumph.

Try as they might, they can't get the shade of Red right. I'm based in Australia, btw.

This is causing me extreme grief, as you might imagine. My beautiful ride is all ready, except for the paint! How can Triumph and the paint people be talking at cross purposes here?

I'm desperate - I've got miles to munch and wheels to turn.

ANy pointers, folks?

A friend of my honey bear is having same problem. He wrecked his bike when a lady pulled out in front of him. He had the Corbin bags on his bike. One was damaged. He went to pick up his repaired bike and discovered paint didn't match also. He has that burned orange with the tribal. They got the paint man to come in and meet with him. At my honey bear's suggestion he picked the one most like the original and told them to put tribal on the bags also. That way maybe the tribal will pull away from the fact the color is not an exact match. You are right it is strange that they can't get this right.

No pointers, but hard to believe it's that difficult to match when HJC helmets came out with a nearly perfect match and wasn't even trying!

If they don't consider them a competitor Corbin might provide them the formula (IAL for a price--my impression is they'd charge their granny to sit down if they owned the chair).
