I'm constantly amazed at motoring America's tolerance for the deer population. It's estimated that 100 years ago there were maybe 400,000 deer in America. Now that number is pegged at 27,000,000. They are everywhere. I sat in a Subway near a busy downtown intersection Saturday and watched a deer grazing across the 4 lane street in broad daylight. They are not wild animals anymore, they are merely feral cows. But heaven forbid you extend the hunting season on them or even harass them to keep them out of your garden!! No other animal comes anywhere near causing the death and destruction deer do, and yet you're not even allowed to thin the herds. You'd think at least the insurance companies would realize how many tens of millions the deer cost them and try to do something about them.
Slaughter cows by the millions, but don't eat the deer that can ruin your vehicle or even kill you. Amazing.
