Ok guys, I've been drooling over R3s and sneaking into this forum for a while now, and I decided to trade Bonnie in on an R3.

I've already talked to the dealer and they have a demo R3 that the owner of the dealership put 100 miles on (100 miles total on the bike). He says he'll do me good on the trade, and make a good deal on the R3 too.

I'm going as soon as I get off work! Bonnie is waiting outside and she has no idea!

Hopefully the deal will go off without a hitch, if they screw me too much on the trade I may walk. Keep yer fingers crossed for me!

Sweat;

Oh, you will do alright... This is a prestige thing for the dealers to see how many bikes of a particular model they can sell.

Do it! I know the feeling. I was scared to try a Rocket for too long. I still have friends who are long time riders who are scared to try the Rocket and I've offered them rides... Truthfully, for the power it has, it's about the friendliest big bike around.

I picked mine up as a demo from RPM Cycles in Dallas with 123 miles on it for $12,500, which I used to justify my Corbin beetle bags, rumble seat, Triumph fly screen and roadster screen still staying close to MSRP..

100 miles is new enough for me too!

Yeah, I was nervous when I went to trade my ol Tiger in, but I have never looked back! Most times, when I have bought something big like a house or a car I've gone through a period of kicking myself in the butt and thinking, "Why did I go and do that?" None of that with the Rocket, just pure enjoyment!

Congrats on the new Rocket Sweat....you did the right thing. Ride the Rocket everyday and it will become a *****cat. It is a very user friendly bike...however, if you go a few weeks without riding it....treat it like you are riding it for the first time. Its got enough torque to plow the lower forty.....or the rider....whichever comes first :wink: :-D

sweatmachine,
Are you buying from Lonestar in Austin? If so, I hope they treat you as well as they treated me on my trade-in. Good luck dude!

I went throught lone star, that's where I bought the Bonnie, they did good on the trade but I was still upside down on it. Long story short, I had a good loan but I basically need about $2k cash to make the deal work, which I don't have.

I ended up backing out of the deal. They didn't have any colors I was crazy about, there were too many reasons not to do it...

To be continued...

I'd like to do it later when I'm able to keep both bikes.

Bucks and colors coming a little bit apart at the seams as reasons why you backed out, quite frankly. What are those 11th hour "too many other reasons" , then? Don't let them haunt you. But don't shirk them either. In other words: Tell us, as/if you wish.

Kind regards. Jamie
