Put these Kury flame grips on the other day. See what you think. Way more comfortable with the throttle boss.

Even added some nut covers I picked up at Wal Mart. They are plastic chrome and are stuck on with RTV.

I like those grips....if I didn't have the triumph heated grips I would get a pair. The throttle boss really helps out a lot on a long ride...combined with a friction cruise control you can just lean back and relax on those long rides adjusting the throttle setting with just your thumb. I have a rubber throttle boss on my Rocket...it works but not as well as the kuryakyn one that screws right into the end of the grip.

Very nice! Haven't read about a lot of Rocket owners doing chroming that area, but it makes total sense to me. I'm getting chrome end caps and chrome levers. Hope my stuff looks that good.

biker1059,
Triumph lists chrome levers on their site, but they cannot be ordered for whatever reason. I emailed the guys at Rivco, and they told me that they were working on chrome end caps for the R3; but I don't wanna wait anymore. LoL I ordered an extra set of levers and end caps from Triumph. Soon as they get here, I'll send them up to Dirty Joe's in Dallas. Should have them on the bike within 6 weeks. )

Hey biker1059, did you order the KUR-6262 for the Triumph? How did you know they would fit the application? Not much info there unless you sent me the sight that took me "direct" to the actual product I need for the Rocket.

Thanks again.

I did order the KUR-6262. I cut both the old grips off. On the left side this exposed the handlebar. I just cleaned the area and applied the glue and stuck it on. Now for the hard part. The throttle side is a double *****. After you cut the grip off this exposes the throttle sleeve. The throttle sleeved has a bunch of grips on it to hold the old rubber grip in place. I took my drimmel tool and sanded all of these off. There is also a ridge next to the switch housing about a quarter inch tall, I cut this off also. If you peel your grip back a little on each end you will see what I am refurring to. After all this was cut off I sanded the throttle sleeve with sand paper, the corser the better. You will have to sand alot. I could not get the grip to go more than a half an inch so I finally put Vasoline on the throttle sleeve and a little on the inside of the grip. It slid right on. The fit is so tight that I did not use any glue and it has not slipped at all. There is about a half inch of empty space inside at the end of the grip. This poses no problems. I cannot tell any differnce with the weights off the end of the grips. Way more comfort. The grips are larger diameter which relaxes your grip. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions just ask

Compressed air is the best way to fit new grips... Put on the throttle side first and fill the handlebars with compressed air from the clutch side and slide the grip on the other side!.. Alternatively use 'quick-grip' or airosol pain sprayed into the grip as a lubricant which will dry and act as a glue.
