Just washed the Rocket and discovered that the upper mount of the left hand side bar/guard has snapped right off!!

I haven´t been even close to drop the bike and/or hittig something with it. Seems to be the weld that has cracked.
I will try to get a picture of it later today.
Any of you guys experienced the same??

These Triumph bars do tend to break, exactly as you describe it. Friend of mine has gone through 3 sets in less than 18 months. All 3 replaced under warranty. No question asked and no objection raised by the dealer nor by the importer. Suggest you pursue the same, that is free replacement under warranty.

Should the new set develop cracks as well (i.e. UNLESS Triumph has come up comes up with a reinforced design?) the alternative is to go for Rivco crash bars.

Best wishes Jamie

How long ago did you purchase them. I thought that they upgraded them fairly recently with a heavier gauge of metal.

I ordered them pretty early in 2005, but they were on backorder a couple of months, so I believe they are from, say, april 2005.

Maybe someone can confirm this but I thought the Triumph bars were beefed up compared to the earilier versions. Yours are under warranty anyway so you so get to find out for us if no one else knows.

The dealer ordered new without hesitating and they arrived today. I will take some pics to see if there is a visible difference!

Got a full set, but decided to only change the left side, since that was the one that broke and it was the "easy" side so to speak. Didn´t take any pictures because there was ABSOULTELY no visible difference between the old bar and the new. It was within a 1/10 of a millimetre the same thickness and everything.
The old bar had simply snapped, it wasn´t a weld that was faulty, the "ear" was cracked like a biscuit.
Anyway, I decided to cut out a small rubber bushing to install between the bar and the frame, perhaps that will eliminate some of the vibrations. :hammer:
