One of the guys in our club just bought an '06 Classic.
During an overnight test ride, he noticed the headlights
are aimed very low. When he took the bike in the next day to finish the deal, he asked the dealer to aim the lights up a little. They told him there is no ajustment provided for up & down, the only way to adjust them is to bend the headlights. WOW, this sounds like a load of do-do. Surely not. Any experience with this?

P.S. Does the Rocket use the standard Triumph oil filter?
Thanks

There is a up and down pivot point. The two headlights will move together when adjusted if i remember correctly. They will however move side to side independently.

I also felt the lights were aimed too low. I adjusted them in the day time but now when I hit the brights at night, every coon in the county knows "I'm" coming cause the top branches are scorched off the trees. Simply remove the singel screw near the speedo & tach, remove the chrome cover to gain access to the horizontal capscrew & hex nut. Loosen slightly & adjust away. As was stated, sideways adjustments are done in much the same manner.
I notice lots of light "scatter" in stead of a nice clean, direct beam. Not sure what can be done about that though.
See ya.

Yep, I notice the headlight scatter light everywhere also. I've adjusted them to best suite me, but I have light shining in the trees, on the road, up high to the right, etc. Not really a clear cut beam.

On contrast, giving Harley cudos here, I recently sold my Road Glide, which had the best headlights I have ever seen. They filled out a giant circle of light in front of you. The insides of the lights are not smooth, but have many rectangle and square shapes to aim the light, not smooth like ours, and, even though they look weird, they work great!

Another Captain suggested the replacement of the stock headlight bulb with Halogen H4. The swap out was easy. The light is noticeably brighter. No problems with aim.
