I need some lowers, does anybody know if you mount the Baker Wings on the Rivco engine guards, is there still room to use foot pegs on the bars?

Thanks
Mitch

I will know next week, that is when I get my Baker Air Wings. It will probably work out ok for me since I place my foot pegs down low and just rest my toe on the pegs and my heel on the floorboards. If you put the pegs up higher they might interfere. You can get attach hardware for the wings to mount to the radiator housing.

I got the airwings yesteday and installed them. The attach point on the engine guard is at the top of the guard so you will be able to mount your road pegs anywhere on the side of the engine guards. The only limiting factor will be how high you mount them since the air wings may interfere with your legs if you mount the pegs high. There is a lot of adjustability with the air wings universal mounting system.

So far I like the air wings....on the ride in to work this morning they helped a lot in keeping the legs warm when in the closed position. With them opened they give much more airflow over the engine. They are easy to operate and the hardware is high quality and looks good.

I will post some pics this evening and more details about their effectiveness in keep engine heat OFF the legs in hot weather. It will be fairly hot riding home today.

Here are some pics.

So far I like the wings a lot...the seem to really clean up the air flow in the open position and help reduce the effect of truck turbulence....at least it appears that way from my preliminary observations. They definietly help cool the legs and upper body, even at 20 to 30 mph.

Closed they provide a lot of warmth from the engine heat....close them on a hot day like today was and you will fry your legs.

This is all subjective opinion though....you would need a wind tunnel test to verify it all....but I guess the bottom line is whether or not the customer is happy.....and I am, would buy them again without a blink.

Excellent pics and report, well done! I wonder if you could mount them lower on the crash bars for the winter time to protect your feet from the oncoming cold air.

Thanks!

You can easily mount the wings lower, however, Baker makes "footwings" specifically for the purpose of keeping your feet warm and dry. Probably better just to get a real good boot to wear.....I wear the crusierworks boots and my never get cold or wet.

Thanks for the info! From reading his website it looks like you can add "lowers" to your setup as well.
