I have just made up a lift attachment that goes on to a atv/motorcycle lift its made from a steelbracket , that bolts on to the bike lift and lifts from the 2 metal lugs on frame.. (seems triumph were playing with the idea of a centre stand) My device just bolts on to the atv/motorcycle lif tand uses the 2 metal lugs ... and can lift the bikes rear to max height of jack. i will get some pics of atv/bike lift and attachment and dimensions of it as soon as my batterys in digital cam are charged ...what i like about doing it this way is that its very stable ... The width of the holes are from inside to inside are 335 mm
i made them 340mm to give me some room..
i can use the bike lift on my own no need for 2 people all i do is i put lift under bike and put a bolt with nut on the sidestand side first then come to outher side and put 2nd nut and bolt in... then up she goes ...

Ice i got the atv/motorcycle lift from toolbox at penrith .... $99.00

The company i got the lift from are at Batt st penrith there called TOOLBOX and the width from hole to hole on bracket is.. 335mm i made mine 340 that gave me a bit of room to move..i just wheel lift under bike put a bolt in the sidestand side of the bike then go to outher side and lean bike over. then put in the 2nd nut and bolt then tighten both and jack her up!!!

Rob, no doubt your special bracket probably holds the bike securely but I find that my similar style of jack will balance the bike perfectly by placing one bar under the front half of the catbox and the other bar under the sump plate. Even with the jack at full height while removing the rear wheel poses no problems. Your special bracket would certainly be necessary if the catbox has been replaced with the catbox removal kit. davo

Hey Robyyy--Since I had removed my cat box and already had a lift like yours, I think your idea of adding the bracket is great. I really appreciate people like you who are thinking of ways to make things easier. Thanks to you, I'm going to copy your idea and make that bracket. Good job and great pictures! Thanks again-Ken B.

I use a similar lift but just place a steel bar over the rear lift pad and then place it under the frame tabs. The front one goes under the engine.

It works but the bracket is a much more secure way to go....A nice powder coated one could be left on the bike I suppose.

I would not have guessed the catbox to be substantial enough to take the load, but pics don't lie. With the lift loaded this way, is it a good balance (front to back), for removal of either the front or rear wheel? Do the bike specs specify the CG of the Rocket? I acquired my second hand and did not get all the paperwork that would come with a new purchase.
Thanks everyone, for the comments and contributions.
I know just how to handle my lifting questions, by reading what the "wise guys" have offered.

Rusty, answers to your two questions: Yes and probably not.
