Hey ya all,
I could really use the beetle bags for some trips, but I don't want them to be on the bike all of the time. Can they be easily removed after installation? If they can be easily removed, do the brackets or mounts look stupid without the bags?
Thanks,
Tall Tx Guy

Dead easy to remove, takes 2 minutes max, the brackets on the rear footpeg are virtually unnoticable and for the top ones, just fit the acorn nuts over the top and again, you wouldn'r know they were there

What bonnietiler said... you could even go so far as to relace some of the mounting bolts, ect. with wing nuts so you wouldn't even need tools. I just leave mine on, I only took them off once to adjust the Progressives, And Valkie came up with a way to do that with a strap wrench. Those Beetles are very handy, usually when you least expect it.. :-D

Hey Tall;
I have the beetle bags as well.. pictures are in my photo album. As toy said, they sure come in handy. I live in the country, and work in a Fortune 200 corporate enviornment. While I do get the looks... Doo Rag, Cowboy boots, and a Suit and Tie... The bags are superb at keeping the suit coat clean and unwrinkled. When I arrive, I remove my leathers - coat and chaps(if needed), Doo Rag and bag those. Then don my suit jacket. I end up with a crowd everytime around the bike.. while I go get coffee...
I am in the process of mounting a trunk - made the trunk mounting rack last night out of cardboard. I have pictures posted in the album of this too... It stores my full face Fulmer Helmet.

I'm going to veer from the rest and say the beetle brackets do stand out when the Rocket is parked. I too was planning on removing them now and then but love the look so much they are going to stay put.

I had emailed Corbin and got some pictures, which weren't real helpful (at least they tried though). I do appreciate the feedback. I'm leaning toward getting them.
Thanks,
Tall Tx Guy

These bags sound like what I might be looking for, something easily removed. However, I cannot find anyones photos of them. Would someone supply a site where they could be review?
Thanks for the info guys.

I was just wondering how long you expect the mounting rack to last. :-D :-D :-D

Toy;
I just read your post.. I guess the laugh is on me.. I just read the way I wrote that. Your right.. Cardboard would not last long... That's too funny...
I should have said, I made a template out of cardboard as it was easier to work with...

Is the front edge of the Beetle bags convex or concave. Pix on Corbin website seems like they are concave to accomodate the passengers leg? Is that true or not. Also, are they ample in size?
