Some captains have complained of enough vibration to make their mirrors hard to see out of. I get just enough vib. to let me know I'm on a motorcycle, but not enough to shake the mirrors, even at 130 mph.

Smooth as silk!!

Great picture. How did you hold the camera?

Seems really stable. I see you have a windshield. Do you have bags too?

With the Triumph 8-10% speedo error you're smooth as silk at 118 or 119 mph there! I gotta try a pic like that... but it's harder to do with no shield! Your goggles tend to start vibrating and doo-rags fly off at those speeds!

I hear so much about this speedo error, but every time I drive by one of those D.O.T. trailers on the side of the road that flash your speed at you, mine is dead on. My odometer seems dead on too when you check it against the interstate mile markers.

The speedo error is off by a %, not a flat amount. Meaning, it is closer and less noticeable at 30 mph than it is at 120. As for the mile markers... LOL I don't think that argument will stand up in court! Try running it with a GPS once and you'll see.

I compared my speedometer to my GPS unit and found almost no difference. The small differences I think were due to the GPS updating.

Just held the camera in my left hand and pointed it at the speedo. It was even a little gusty. Practiced a couple of times at lower speed.
Of course you live in the mile high city so you have much less wind resistance...... .....lucky stiff!

I've found that bike is quite stable but the turbulence is pretty bad, even with the windshield.

Hey hlw3, I have the same concern with my Rocket. When the r's get up there & the speed increases, the vibration thru the entire bike makes me feel something is wrong. Not certain it is the same on all Rockets but some of us are not stating it is. I have a friend coming into town soon & I'm going to have him take a Rocket flight on mine to compair it to his, which he says is smooth.

Still worried, hope that a checkup at the dealer will find a slight adjustment need & the engine will smooth out.

Good luck to you.

Funnily enough I had similar issues re vibration at about 3000RPM, 120KMH. I pulled the clutch in and let the motor idle and the vibration was still there.
There was two things causing it,

1: Incorrect tyre pressures, I basically changed tyre pressures to reduce the vibration, takes a bit of fiddling but it does help, check results on the same piece of road.

2: Stock shocks, since putting the Ikons on, less vibration is transmitted to the bike

Seems to work no more vib issues
