I heard a R3 pass by while I was in a parking lot, the guy had some LOUD exhaust.

I'd never heard an R3 before, I thought it sounded kinda like a dump truck or 18 wheeler at full throttle.

Anyone care to describe what these sound like?

Well, it couldn't have been stock pipes on the R3 you heard.

I still have the stocks on mine and they are real smooth sounding. My honey has the Jardines. You can hear him coming but not sure I would associate it with a dump truck. His are a real deep sound. They could set car alarms off if he wanted I am sure.

It doesn't.
Boss Hoss are 6 or 8 cylinder car engines.
RIII's are in-line 3 motorcycle engine.

They are two differant kinds of rides. As a passenger I liked The Boss better. But then it had nice Queen seat on it. But since I ride my own now it doesn't matter.

The Boss is worse on gas. Especially if you play with it. You have to literally drive it around the twisties. But since he put a car tire on it a month or so ago he can drag pegs now easily with out trying. Will definatly out run the Rocket. He rides it when he wants to keep me in-line. A definate Attention Getter!!!! Sounds good too! Has only two gears with a reverse. Reverse is nice. also weighs 1300 lbs.

The Rocket pretty decent on gas. Great on twisties. Also, an Attention Getter! And I am sure you have read all kinds of other good stuff on this site about the Rocket III.

After Honey Bear bought the Rocket, he said if he had to get rid of one of the bikes it would have to be the Rocket cause it is much more fun to ride. But still Loves Both bikes.

Although with current fast increasing gas prices he is thinking of selling the Boss.

I dunno, I may be. I don't understand your purpose here. You started this thread with a post that you just heard an RIII and it sounded like a dump trunk. Then you proceed to ask us to describe what they sound like. Followed by a request to compare them to a car engine. ***?

What's better than winning a gold medal in the Special Olympics?
