Here's what I would like to see.

1. An up-graded Bonneville, Thruxton, America and Speedmaster line with bigger 1200cc engines. This would give a good customer choice with the 790 and 1200 motors. Leave the bike parts the same with bigger models identified by meatier finning in barrels, beefier looking tank with another 3L capacity and different trim levels. Cost should only be $1000 or $1500 more than equivilent 790 and 865cc models.

2. A downsized and lighter 2L Rocket with a higher state of tune producing similar HP to current Rocket but probably a bit less torque in a package weighing no more than 300kg.

3. A full dress tourer Rocket III based on current Rocket but bored to 2.5L just to stuff up the Honda et al who may be thinking about knocking the Rocket of it's pedestal.

I reckon they would have all bases covered then. Food for thought? Davo

Hi there

Triumph is already quite far advanced on building a 1500 cc cruiser along with a touring full faired rocket .These will be released 2007/08

I am not sure that a fully faired r 3 is the way to go but anyway.

I feel that a modern Trophy would be better.

Regards

Harty

Thats me man!

Harty: do you mean something like an across the frame triple of at least 1.3L that would run head to head with the likes of the FJR1300 and BMW's new K1200GT?

Tri-al: I agree totally. Scrapping the Thunderbird was one of the daftest moves ever made by anyone!

Hi Davo

yes - In my part of the world we have plenty of riders looking for a Trophy with good fuel consumption and more modern looks and they dont like the Rocket .Strange not liking the R3 but anyway .I am happy to see that Triumph is working hard to keep the new models coming and seeing the build quality of the 675 they are going great guns

I always look forward to August to hear what new models we can sell .

Regards

Paul

I'm kind of glad that Triumph doesn't have a 1200cc range cruiser at the moment because if that was available, I most likely would have passed up the Rocket and bought one of those!

The TBS has to be the most under rated do-it-all bike of all time.. Bring back the TBS!
