What exhaust would you recommend for the Rocket? I want noise but not straight pipes. What would give the most awesome sound. Any sound clips available?

The Wiki board here has quite a bit of info..

Some more info here at the r3owners.net site..

and some sound/video links

I have the Maddogs. Sound great, fit great, and maintain the stock look (one on left, two on right) plus the slash cut looks good.

I have the TORs with cat bypass ad I think they sound gnarly.

The Jardines are louder, deeper and more resonant but IMHO actually sound more muffled - refined.

Hello chazzman.

What a completely subjective dilemma you face. Three things to consider: Looks, sound, and cost.

I have D & D's and am very happy with them. They are glass packed but loud on acceleration, quiet like Flow Masters during idle and cruising....and cheap @ $499.99US. Nothing close in price to them I assure you. D & D has been in the silencer biz for a loooong time as well.

I am a traditionalist so I prefer the three pipe look, however the D & D's (two pipes on right side)were on when i bought the bike, and well, I've fallen in love with them. Partly because they are treated as a step sister compared to Jardines, TOR's, and MadDogs(I'm a sucker for the underdog) and partly cuz the sound ROCKS

Here's a link to D & D silencers: Impressive D&D Dyno

Not trying to be a downer here, but sound files mean absolutely ziltch-zero-nada. Taking the word from owners is the second best way to figure out what you want, while hearing silencers in person is the ultimate.

Good Luck!!

Maddogs! They still have 3 pipes and fit nice and snug to the bike, 3 pipes is wot makes the rocket.

I have the TOR'S with K&N air cleaners and power commander and have 147 rwh and 158 torque. I'm very pleased with the TOR''s. Love the sound.

I concur. On mine, Doggies replaced the TOR's which I had installed on delivery. Great pipes as well, but their sound is a bit demure.

Yes Mate . I got away from the 3 pipes along with two other
mates in our club. I chose to go with a 17 inch super trapp
with 30 plates got the note I wanted but most of all I got
better performance and it breaths better, and fuel consumption is a lot better regards Mutha v.v.m.c. Queensland Australia.

There have been some issues with idle problems, and we are still investigating, one of the things that has come up is there is no map avl for the d&d's and k&n with pc-III. The jury is still out but right now i would be wary of the d&d's as i have talked with a few members with rockets that wont idle and all have d&d's. The tuneboy probably will fix this but we have not tried that yet. Looks like the TOR's or Jardines would be a better bet, but cost more. If anyone has anything to add that would be helpful.

But to answer your question about the D&D's..

I took my power commander off today and readjusted the throttle cables as they need play in them, probably the problem all along. The D&D's are working fine now, and my bike idles fine also. The D&D's look good and sound good, the pipes tuck in and dont stick out like the stock ones and there is no pipe on the left side and no cat, so you save weight (about 15 lbs).
Good luck
