Just checking.....are most of the Rocket captains also fans of the Stones?.....just seen their Bigger Bang concert in Sydney, there was lots of old people there...errrr....like me, oh and lots of females in groups....all over 40, maybe reliving their early years?.....or maybe their just standing up and getting back out there after a life of kids and housework?.... :upthumb:

Well, let me tell ya, I may be "dating" myself, but I always preferred them to the Beatles since the early days. However, they have long ago "worn off". There's a point in time where we ALL have to get off the "stage" and theirs is way overdue! I do credit them for their longevity. I'm sure they're in the Ginness Book. After the Super Bowl performance?, I think this was hit home. I seem to recall Mick stating something to the effect that he didn't want to perform (live) past 30? Retirement CAN'T be all that bad! :hammer:

Last years Christmas present of an IPOD, caused me to revisit and inventory my music collection. And your post allowed me to clarify my opinion of the difference between the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

The Rolling Stones are the best rock and roll band.

The Beatles didn't play (much) rock and roll. I think they are alone atop their own category.

Not intentionally splitting hairs and dodging the greatest rock band question. If it is "rock" then Stones. If it is "music quality" then Beatles.

Hmmm.... Not the Stones for me. Of the "old" bands still kicking it out, I still play Aerosmith and Rush. Too bad Led Zep isn't on the tour any longer.

Bet you had a great time IceT. Most of the women probably kept their shirts on this go around i reckon! Thirty years can do a lot to your vanity, as well as thirty years of gravitational pull! :-D
