Has anyone installed one of these Brakeaway Cruise controls. They don'y list a Rocket because they say the device takes away 3/4" of the grip. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

No experience with Brakeaway...installed Throttlemeister last summer with no complaints. http://www.throttlemeister.com/

Straightline;

I too went with the Throttlemeister (heavy) and I am very pleased. I have used it a few times on those 80-100 mile rides on the super slab.

I have a Breakawaycruise control. I called and they said the same to me. I took the dremal and beveled one side of the ring on the inside, they are three different thickness rubber strips. But while installing it I bent it, I sent it to them and they repaired it and returned it at no charge. It was out of warrenty, I had used it for a year on my Roadstar. I have not gotten around to installing it on the Rocket yet.
I loved that on my Road* just tap the brake and its off, don't have to worry about unsetting it. I will let you know how it goes as soon as I install it.

Also, there is ONLY one TRUE (electronic) cruise control for motorcycles: http://www.mccruise.com/bike_intro.html Unfortunately, they have no plans to make one for the Rocket 3 at this time.

Everything else is just a throttle lock. I think that the best of these is the BrakeAway which disengages when you pull the brake lever in: http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/de...er_ID=296&prod uct_ID=9577&model_ID=102

My second favorite pick is the True Cruz because you still don't have to let go of your grip to disengage the throttle like some others: http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/de...0&manufacturer_ ID=414&product_ID=19044&related=short

It's all personal taste. I'm ordering the BrakeAway one for myself...
