Please help. I've had my Rocket since Aug 04 and in that time must have had a dozen punctures in the rear tyre. What is the matter with Metzler tyres? On my Honda Veradaro it was the same and yet when I changed to Avons I never got a puncture again.
Does any other tyre company make RIII rears?
Any in the States?
Please help. I am at work at 19:35 tyred (tired) and hungry, waiting for the rescue van to turn up, with my pride and joy slumped in the car park.

Ps. Anyone know how to get cheap RIII rear tyres. They are about £120 $200 here. A previous thread mentions EBay but what do you search for? :???:

What are you running over? I've had no problems with my R-III tires. I also had Metzlers on my TBS and was able to get 13,000 miles out of them.. Come to think of it (knock on wood) I can't remember ever having a punture on a motorcyle tire.. :???:

I am running over English " 3rd World " roads. If you go off piste onto the central reservation or filter though stationary traffic, the chances are that you will plough through layers of sh*t and bullets that the Council are supposed to sweep up.

All our money goes to the Europeans so that their roads are kept up together. Ours are left to rot. Don't get me started on the Government!

Next bike - BMW GS1200 with Mud Terrain tyres to negotiate all the pot holes and nails.

Just Metz at this stage though there are rumours that Avon will be making a 240 later this year! Maybe big knobbies for the Rocket eh!

Have you tried changing your normal tire routine to slightly over inflate the tires and using fix a flat prior to having a flat? A hard tire might bounce a nail rather than allow it to stick and the fix a flat might get you home. I assume you are forced to look at your tires everyday.
