Currently i have the D&D exhaust but was looking at the Jardine exhaust

my question is this

Would the Jardine give better performance?

would the Jardine sound better or deeper?

would my D&D have any resale value?

The Jardine's will give the best performance of any available today. It is a "complete" system as they provide new headers as well. How much more power will it provide....I don't know but I would bet a boat load it will be more than the Triumph TORs or any other slip-on pipe.

I don't have Jardine pipes so I can't speak to the sound but I know very few people here who have installed the Jardine's have been upset with their sound or performance. Keep in mind if you go with the Jardine's you will most likely need a Power Commander because there is no stock map that can be applied to our bikes for the Jardine setup from Triumph.

As to the resale value I am sure it has something. One mans junk is another mans treasure so to speak. Generally speaking expect about half of what you paid for it.

Does something bother you with the D&D? I'm heavily considering a D&D slip on for mine..

I've heard the Jardines and they're deeper and louder than my TORs. They're very resonant. The mechanic said that they give him a headache after 10 minutes. They've installed several of these systems and have done a lot of dyno runs with them. I have the TORs with cat bypass and they told me that the Jardines would give a few extra HP over my system. For a standard Triumph exhaust, you need to get rid of the cat box, which is a big impediment to the exhaust flow. The header is the big deal with the Jardines.

Supposedly, you need a PCIII with the Jardines but my dealer hasn't gotten the PCIII's to work right on the Rocket, as opposed to all the Hardly's he puts them on. He says his Jardine installations work great without the PCIII.

I think the Jardines look and sound great - except for the 2 mufflers. That's a deal breaker for me.

Vonny, with all respect, unless you have seen some comparative dyno charts of the different systems being tested on the same bike, on the same day, on the same dyno, such a statement as yours above, is only an opinion and not by any means, a fact.

Just wanted to put the record straight. Davo

I love my D&D's and I doubt there is little difference between the aftermarkets that eliminate the catback. D&D give you the most bang for your buck for around 499.99US.
Here's a D&D dyno. If the dyno is close to reality it's dog gone good!

In the scheme of things I just don't see where the Jardines are worth an extra 500 large for alleged deeper resonance and alledged performance superiority. Looks wise I do like the stock three pipe look but I believe the Jardines are one pipe on each side which to me is ho-hum. The headers look great though. It comes down to what you like the best and what you can afford.

I have the Jardine's and there was a big difference. The downside..my ears nerver stop ringing. They are ringing now and I haven't ridden the bike in two days. I'm completely serious.

But ..there is that power!

You are right to point out I don't have any data in front of me that can prove that. I also think most understand that a complete system will under normal circumstances beat out any slip-on pipe. This isn't a knock on your Mad Dogs at all but rather going on the assumption that the headers from Jardine allow a better flow of exhaust than the Triumph headers.

Vonny, You are correct, this is an assumtion... which may or may not be correct. And to top it off, you have just made another (incorrect) assumption... that my connection with Mad Dogs motivated my comments.

My only motivation was to dispel incorrect notions that become "facts" though the passage of time. If you hear someone state something over and over it becomes credible and if a whole heap of people state the same thing over and over, it becomes elevated to "fact", or so it would seem!

As the song says, "It ain't neccessarily so..." Davo (sorry to be boring!)
