I was expressed my excitement to pick up my bike this Saturday at the gym with a couple of co-workers who happen own VTX and another consider to buy YAMAHA roadliner. Both of them try to give me impression that either one of their cruiser will be slightly/if is not faster than Rocket III classic that I am going to have. Another one with V-ROD join in "why not HD? V-ROD is very nice"

I mention several time that I really like Rocket III design and its look. And I already pay my money. I am not going to race my bike with anyone. And I don't know how to anyway plus it is dangeous. So I walk away. Somehow I feel they never heard Rocket III before because they don't seem to know who make it.

I should care less...but I still curious. Is is ture that VTX or Roadliner will out run Rocket III. I believe they might outrun CLASSIC version because its grandfather looking and very old style. I listen my exhust pipe last weekend. It is very mellow. I know Japanese makes very nice bike. HONDA, YAMAHA, KAWASAKI, SUZUKI. You name it!

Even they are fast than my bike. It should not be too much faster after I know how to control my engine, isn't it? They are nice guys but since I haven't ridden bike for a long while and I just have no clue at all. Who care!

NONE of the bikes mentioned will outrun the Rocket.

Relax and enjoy the ride.

Your coworkers are blowing smoke....have them post their brag here on the forum and we will take care of them pronto.

Your classic will be just as fast as any other stock Rocket.

Grandfather looking...?

You gotta be kidding. Either their bike's been inhaling a lot of nitrous or they have.

No, no, no , Delroc. They just sense your... deep down insecurity, if I dare say . Do you realize that you've shown a few signs of it here, be it about price, dealer behaviour or the relative merits of competitive iron? Fine and legitimate questions on this friendly forum. But you don't want to reveal any such sign out there, man.

You've chosen the best and most powerful 2-wheeled sport/ cruisin' machine on the market, period. Roadholding and braking power included. They'll soon realize that they have to eat your dust, man. Let second thoughts be entirely theirs, not yours, about their mounts and the circumstances or habits or attitudes that led to them. You'll prevail.

Yes, you will. Wow!

Ha, show them this picture and remind them you have hp in the 140 range with similar torque!

Tell them that's you on a test ride!

The only bike in this group that could even come close is the V-Rod.. The others will get a quick view of your tail light and then you will be a small speck in the distance....

There are bikes faster and quicker than the Rocket, but they are few and far between. All of the Jap open class sport bikes are, both on a roll on, and standing start 1/4 mile. BUT, none of them give you the instant rush of 147 ft/lbs of torque. Someone mentioned that when accelerating hard on a Rocket, it's like the hand of God shoving you forward. You will not get that on any other factory bike.. The only place any other cruiser type bike might out perform the Rocket is gas mileage.. hahaha..

There is much to be proud about with this bike. Maybe you have a little buyer remorse. This is a great bike on many levels. Even it wasn't the fastest - this is a great handling bike with unlimited potential to make it into whatever you want.

The Triumph name is very well respected. I guarantee at least twenty people in the first month will tell you they owned a Triumph and are completely blown away by your bike.

My wife watched the HD VROD commercial where the woman gets on the bike in front of the man trying to impress another woman. Her comment was the VROD must be a girl bike.

Your right wrist will have access to more power than you can imagine. The bike has tons of street cred.

Guess I'm beating a dead horse, but it's worth repeating. Your friends couldn't be MORE WRONG. The notion that a VTX or a Roadliner is faster than a Rocket is SO rediculous, it's like saying that a PIG will be faster than a THOROUGHBRED RACE HORSE.

If your friends don't believe it, tell 'em I'll race them and give them a THREE bike-length head start. I'll still reach a 1/4 mile before them.
