It does not have the dreaded "energy conserving" mark of satan upon its bottle so consensus is that wet clutches have nothing to fear from it (but try to get an oil company to confirm that!)

Anything that's good enough for my BMW cage (requires full syn) should also pass muster for the Rocket since it's also liquid-cooled, turns similar rpm, has lower compression AND about a ton less vehicle hooked up to roughly the same amount of motor.

I'm trying to talk myself into it since I know Castrol makes good product and I'm going to get some for the bimmer on sale at Advance for $3.97.

Syntec is NOT full syn oil. It is a blend, the API allows them to advertise as such, but, it isn't.......Also, it has friction modifiers, slippy clutchy.............

Sorry, but I'd need more info to accept what you're saying at face value since sounds like you're accusing Castrol of deception that would violate consumer protection laws in all 50 states.

Checked and their EPA safety data lists Syntec Full as synthetic hydrocarbons no mention of petroleum hydrocarbons. I don't think they'd be crazy enough to lie to the EPA. Whatever you read is BS.

Is the clutch in your beemer bathed in the same oil as your motor??? Is your beemer a dry sump???? Is your beemer single stage pump filtration??? Does your beemer have a pressure plate DOC chain tensioner???? Does your beemers transmission and motor share the same oil???
Each unto his or her own but for the life of me I just can't understand all this fuss about saving 2 or 3 bucks a quart by using motor oil that is marginally acceptable.....at best.
Damaging to clutch and tranny at worst!!!
Beemer cages and Rockets do, however, have something in common..they both use gasoline.

Castrol is at the bottom of the list of synthetic motorcycle oils (according to Amsoil's testing). I use Mobil 1 MX4T, it rates #3 in the test and you can get it at Wally World. Here is the link to the test Amsoil Motorcycle Oil Test

That's an outfit trying to sell you $32.00 per liter motor oil using a laundry list of nitpicking and/or undocumented insinuatons of why other companies' syn oils are vastly inferior along with anecdotal claims of 6-figure trouble free miles on the same oil (Amsoil has done that too but they don't tell people it's a good idea!)

Personally, I'd take with a grain of salt ANY claims of some website in Las Vegas trying to tell you that you won't ever need to change oil again. Yeah, and casinos will make you rich

I wouldn't dispute that Amsoil is better than Castrol. Amsoil may well be the best on the market. But if you change at twice book spec in motors for which syn doesn't seem to be recommended for any other reason, the question is whether it is THAT much better.

sbljr,

I put the link up just so someone (even you) can begin the research. I agree that it should be taken with skepticism.

Personally, I don't care if you put piss in your engine.

Performance Improving Super Synthetic, yes PISS is another fine product from those fine folks in Las Vegas right? Tried that stuff and it makes your motor drip like an old Triumph but on the plus side neighborhood dogs know whose territory it is
