I was in the Sydney offices of Monza Imports today who amongst other things import Dunlop motorcycle tyres into OZ... I noticed a big fat bike tyre behind a desk and got into a conversation about the Metzler 240 for the Rocket... The Dunlop was a 250/40 x 18" and retails fo $250 Aus (say $190 US)... It is one mean looking SOB tyre which retails for around $200 Aus LESS than the Rocket tyre!

We are so being ripped off by Metzler. No wonder so many Captains are crossing to the dark side!!! :???:

Yeah, you gotta look for 16" tires, Steve, though if you find an 18 inch rim for the Rocket, let me know.

Stevo, I'll bet you a weeks pay that the theivin' Metzler company will drop their price as soon as Dunlop brings out that tire in a 16" size.

BTW my weekly pay is not a lot by the time Michelle whips out her bit! davo

I dont think Dunlop will bring out a rear for the rocket but Avon have said that they will later in the year.

Tom-
What are you doing telling him to sew it back together. I thought that's why they called it "rubber cement"?

Yeah I know Riderman... I'm just a bit pissed at the blatant rip off when another reputable tire company can produce a bigger tyre with a retail tag of 40% less! It is just robbery.... Or good commercial sense if you are a Metzler shareholder :-D
