I picked up my new '06 Rocket Classic today. Very happy. The 10 mile ride home turned into the 70 mile tour. I had to come home when the temp got into the lower 40s F. Love the bike.

I have been babying it until I get some more miles on it. Paint job looks great. What was kind of cool is when I took the seat off at the dealer I saw the pinstriper's name on the base of the tank (see photo). The seat comes off kind of weird, you have to turn the key and pull a "rip cord" (see photo) on the other side of the seat. The seat comes off in one piece.

I took some snapshots in the garage. I will take some in the daylight hours as these do not do the paint job justice.

Tom, it's supposed to be nice out tomorrow, will you be able to come out and play?

Congrats!!!

Thats a good lookin' ride!! It must have a second latch for the back of the seat? How are the floorboards? It must be a shock coming off of a Speed Triple.....

Any playing tomorrow will have to be after work... maybe I'll go home during lunch and get mine... right now it looks like 15-20 F in the AM so I doubt I'll ride in then :-D

Come on Spring!!!

wow, Nice looking ride, thats the same latch on My Sprint ST seat, only the turning key moves the cable on mine.

the black and red was what I was looking at buying new until I ran accross the Used Rocket that I'm doing the paperwork on right now.
Its the one that Hondax spoke up about. If I could get out of work I'd fly up and ride it home but looks like I'll need to ship it to Georgia and have it waiting until I get back.

Love the personal touch of the signature, ya gotta love employes that care.

Oh and it was in the 60's today in Arizona, rode home from work in just my BDU's

Good looking bike, congrats!

FWIW re pinstriping, I read somewhere there are only a couple of workers who once made Meriden Triumphs employed at the Hinckley factory and the guy who does that is one of them.

If he gets in a mischeivous mood I guess he could paint "Lucas" on something electrical instead of his name on the tank

"Great old biker's joke (old timers' jokes, in general, turning increasingly private, though, mmmh...), Sbljr.

Laughed so much, my denture fell off. But then I realized it, the denture, had been assembled by Smith Instruments UK, using Lucas, Girling and Amal bits and pieces.

Three out of these four infamous brands got a "Queen's Export Award" in the late 60's BTW

In hindsight, "export" meant "waste management"

Pig9r, Congratulations!! Great looking classic. Was my choice if a good used 2005 didn't emerge(which it did)

Seems redundant, but the engineers must have had (safety?)issues with seat removal by key only. Or is this a better way to keep the underworld from messing with the bike?

Hoping to be able to ride sometime with you in the near future.
