How's this. Early January I had to fly down to Melbourne to collect a BMW R1200GS that had finished up down there on a one-way rental. Normally I truck the bikes home but since I have some sweet little granddaughters living down that way, me thinks, I'll drop in bearing presents and watch their cute little eyes light up!!

That done, I set out for the 2000km ride home. Called into Bairnsdale to see JD but he's in Perth seeing MikecapelG so ride on. Seat is nice and comfy with the AirHawk but the BMW vibes a bit on a long ride so you tend to stand up on the pegs coming into small towns for a bit of bum relief. Since the AirHawk was not tied on, you've got to remember to bend the knees in to hold it on the seat. Anyways, down the road a bit (around Nabiac NSW), the traffic slows up for some roadworks so it's stand up time again. About a minute later I glance down and to my horror see nuthin' but a bare motherless seat, right were my comfy AirHawk should be. DAM!!!

While trying to avoid getting mowed down by a long line of impatient drivers, I quickly pull over and wait for a gap in the traffic to do a u-turn and head back down the road. And then I spot it, about a quarter mile away, like a black blob on the road looking flatter and flatter as each oncoming vehicle manages to run right over it. Again, I pull over and wait at the side of the road to dart out and retrieve my poor Airhawk, like a brave crow wanting that squashed field mouse.

Man was I surprised to see that despite a chunky 4WD footprint right across the cover, it had suffered no apparent damage. I tossed it back on the seat, dusted the tyre prints off and just carried on using it! Still got it and it works just fine! Davo

Bet you ran up the laundry bill for a cager or two behind when they saw a big black thing flying toward them and had no idea it was just a harmless air pillow :-D :-D :-D

Sounds just like a TV ad Davo! Maybe you should sell them the script!

Aussiebikerdave,

I have had one for almost two years now. It is great and the best comfort for your butt out there. There is a reason people in wheel-chairs sit only on these babies. The trick for me was taking off the leather and placing the air hawk on the seat and then putting the leather back on. Works great, but I suggest two things. 1) Take the air-hawk out of the cover it comes with. 2) Put some sticky backing on the bottom side so it does not move around.

Have a great ride.
