I have the Triumph (OEM) tall windshield on my R3. It needs to be a few inches taller. Does anybody know if there is any aftermarket folks making windshields that will fit in the Thriumph R3 (OEM) hardware?

Thanks
Mitch

Just did a search on Memphis Shades and National Cycle web sites and neither one make a shield for a double head light. Look at Pappy's photo album and look at his mod to tilt the shield forward. If you are looking to reduce wind this might help. Also look at Ma's Cycles web site, they carry lowers for the Rocket which will cut down on the wind even more.

Sounds like you're looking for exactly what they make if you have the Roadster screen already. Their replacement plastic fits right on the existing hardware and can be had up to 5" taller I think.

Clear Shields also offers a variable vent that's about eight inches wide and about two inches tall. It can ba closed off 100% or opened to allow any amount of air through to cool you when it is hot out. They will install it at any height above the Triumph cross bar that you want. Here's a photo.
I am ordering the 5" taller shield to replace my Roadster Screen, with the vent about three or four inches above the cross bar...

:-D :-D :-D :-D

jeees...you guys and the widshields. I really don't understand the attraction to putting a big acrylic barrier between you and the wind. Isn't that the attrtaction? Feeling the force of the wind and all? Don't you think it makes the rider look kinda' wimpish also. If you are worried about bugs hitting your pie hole at 90mph, try on a full face helmet.

Not everybody lives in California--but having visited I can understand how it seems that way to people who live there

If riding behind a big acrylic barrier me a wimp, guess I'll take wimp over hypothermia

BTW in Kansas the full-face helmet makes you look like a wimp--he-men wear doo-rags and have "DOT" tatooed at the base of their skull. I have a couple of full-face lids AND the windshield too so I guess I'm double-wimpy. But if I'm having fun at my age wth

WWW.clearviewshields.com I just ordered the 5" taller smoke shield. Takes about 3 weeks as they make them to order.

I'm 5' 10" and I got my shield 1" taller than standard. 5" taller seems excessive, unless you're 5' 4". You don't want to be looking through the windshield. Clearview gave me a formula for how tall the shield should be. Something like you should be able to see the road over the top of the shield 50 feet in front of the bike.

If you like buckin' the wind for 12 hours of highway riding, go for it. Add a headwind to the soup and you'll be one tired puppy. I love my windscreen.
