When it's a single manifold...... I assume that's the marketing department getting in there with their 2 cents worth. Hey it's got three cylinders, it should have three mufflers.

I'm looking at going to one muffler. After the manifold takes it's jog down to get under the frame and starts aft, just take one pipe back to one silencer/muffler.

The dealer indicates he has a source for that from Australia (Staintune?). Will do some web searching too. The dealer also mentioned that the single system would give a little increase in torque. I've heard that in the v-twin world too. I think two pipes on a v twin looks good (I've had several) even though the single system dynoed with better torque.

Does any one here have the single exhaust setup? Would like your impressions and pictures if available.

Thanks,

Jim

Welcome Jim, this topic has been talked about for two years now. If you do a search (much has been deleted by admin's) you may find some stuff that survived the purges. If you go to Pappy's member album (God bless his soul) you will see the first Rocket Captains mod with a single Supertrap muffler.

I've been searching with google, this site came up a couple of times but the link went to a blank posting.

Yeah, I figured it might be a newbie question but the search produced little info. Raask out of Sweden, and two distributers (British and Australian) were all that came up on 3 into 1 systems.

I guess it's not real popular but then I tend to go against the grain a little anyway, (heck, I've got a 3 cylinder cruiser..... :-D ) and I like the black engine..... >

Thanks for your help.

Jim

I have the Staintune three into three... And I know they offer a three into two unit. They state that the 3 : 3 offers better power delivery than the 3 : 2 unit, even with their custom collector.

The only single exhaust system I have seen comes when you put the Turbo on the bike.

I have been thinking about putting a single supertapp on, less weight, better ground clearance and tunable exhaust note...just haven't had a chance to stay off the bike long enough!

Steve,

No turbos for me.....

Mike,

I checked the Supertrapp site but saw nothing for the RIII. Are you talking about buying a muffler and custtom bending and chroming pipe?

Thanks,

Jim

I ran a single "pig pipe" from the manufactures in Daytona and it worked real nice. If you call Millers in Daytona they carry that exhaust and a whole lot more. (386-761-0858) Any one big pipe with a big baffle will produce more power, lighter weight and a great sound.
