A few months back my business partner went to the darkside and bought a V-Rod. After 150 miles at every stop sign, light etc it would idle for 5-7sec then cut out, no problem starting again but let it idle and it would cut out. Had it in at the local dealer four times they were stumped harley sent a V-Rod tech from up north down to check it out and he was stumped. Long story short harley offered him all his money back or pick a new bike of the same value, he picked a softtail something, could not get him over to our side as his legs are so bloody short I have to lift him up on my Rocket.
Round of applause to Harley Davidson for doing the right thing. (No lemon law in Florida for motorbikes)

Seems like very unusual for a V-Rod. He should have gotten another one. It's the best think HD makes.

I agree. It's the only thing in their inventory that's got "current" technology behind it! But kudoes to Harley on that one! :hammer:

It's just a built-in ignition/injection cut-off that triggers whenever the V-Rod is about to fall. The fact it self-actuated at every stoplight merely confirms that your bud's legs are indeed way too short

Strange story about your friend's V-ROD. I have ridden my friend's V-ROD several times. He nor I have ever experienced trouble with his bike. I am happy to read that Harley took care of the problem.

I can tell you that my friend has had more than a few problems with his local Harley Davidson dealer's service department. I will never forget riding behind him and watching the gear shift lever fall off and bounce down the highway while on his way home from having it serviced. They adjusted the gear shift lever and didn't even tighten the thing! Next morning there was an oil puddle under the bike because they didn't tighten the drain plug after the oil change.

Harley makes a very nice bike. However, there service is killing them!!

VRods are the bikes that cant pass us right? I saw one in my rear view mirror, but it was for a brief moment before it faded away.

How short is he? I am 5'5" and am riding. When I first looked at them. My dealer said they lowered for a 5'1" man. Don't know what they did. I know what was done to mine but don't know what they did for him.
