Hi there, Just joined today, have looked at your site a few times but being an IT dummy had`nt regestered. My name is Colin Hood (HOODY) I live on the Isle Of Bute on the west coast of Scotland, I own a Red 2005 Triumph Rocket 111 which has covered 2000 miles. Hobbies rideing, cleaning and looking at my Rocket. Mods to bike are modest, Rivco licence plate/ turn signal relocation plate, exhaust flange covers, NewR3 custom brake line clamps,Acumen digi gear indicator, formation spot clock,Triumph dresser bars,Triumph chrome finishers and Stebel compact horn. Most memorable trip so far was to the Rocket run in August from the triumph factory to Rockingham castle,I was the only bike from Scotland that turned up. will post some pics from the run (70 Rockets). That all just now, hope to contribute to the forum. Hoody.

Hi There, also registered today...

My name is Dave Jacobs and I am a proud owner of a new '05 Rocket III, I live in the western subs of Chicago and can't wait for this weather to clear up. Had my first mishap at 230miles last week when the rear tire picked up a piece of construction debris, made it home and plugged the tire but it is shot, so I am going to the dark side with a Yokohama AVS ES100.

Things I have added to the bike so far:
Triumph bags, dresser bars, tankbib, shield and sissybar/rack
Pyle Marine radio in one of the bags and speakers on the handlebar.

Out of all the bikes I have owned in the past 7 years (2 VTX's - one turboed, Valkyrie, Aprilia Futura, Ducati ST3, Triumph Tiger) this one is wearing on me...

Future adds: Taller shield and turbo setup.

I will post some pics after the tire is on.
Later
Head

Hey RocketHead,

Glad to hear that another Rocket Rider lives and breathes in my area. I'm from Willowbrook. I bought my Rocket in August and have posted 4000+ miles and have only seen one other rocket!
I'm right there with you on the weather.
I was able to ride last week and it felt great to get out and put a few miles on!
Hope to cross paths this summer!

I've been on the forum for a few years as an '00 Thunderbird Sport rider (one awesome bike to own!), but started out the New Year with an '05 Rocket III, which I am now addicted to.

I have the Triumph fly screen, Triumph tank bra, Corbin rumble seat, and soon to have Corbin beetle bags. After I get that all together, I'm planning on the D&D mufflers

I've been riding for 25 years or so. My first bike was a Kawasaki KE175 and my first street legal bike was a Honda CL 350 (similar to the new Scrambler). I got my license on a Triumph 500 chopper, which led me to the way of Triumph. Had several other bikes through the years, Honda CX 500 ( nice bike if it wasn't so ugly! ), Honda CB 750s, a '66 Bonneville chopper, etc.
I worked at a bike shop as a teenager and pretty much got to take a ride on anything that was made at the time..

The closest bike I can think of relating to my experience with the Rocket, is when I got to ride a 900cc Suzuki GT750. When that 2-stroke hit the right RPMs, you'd better be hanging on tight!

My name is Mike Greenberg and I am not new to this forum.I have had a Legend, as well as a 68 Lightning. Been riding on and off since 1968. I am 56 years old, married live in Marblehead, MA. I have occassionally posted questions as a prospective owner. Acually have posted on classics forum over the years.

I am re-introducing myself because I just bought a 2005 Silver Rocket from Great Bay. Have not picked up the bike yet. We are getting a foot of snow Saturday, so no hurry here. I had them add rack and heated grips. I am adding a screen, for now and beetle bags. I was considering Corbin dual seat but thinking now of Russell.

I and 2 friends will be going to Sturgis this August (they on BMWs) and then two of us to Seatlte so we can say we crossed the US.
We are going to ship bikes back because we will have run out of time off.
I just made room reservations at Copperfield.
Mike

Oops should've said hello first. I'm Mark, moved to San Jose 2 weeks ago from Ireland. At present I'm missing my 02 Speed Triple badly and looking for her replacement in the form of a used (pref) R3.

Hopefully I'll pick one up soon as this looks like perfect riding weather and rental cars suck a**.
