Other Motorcycle: HD 81 Sturgis
Hello to everyone. after riding my 81 Harley Sturgis for all these years I decided I wanted something different. Was looking on the web at all different bikes when I happened to visit the Triumph site and (THERE SHE WAS) in all her mega torque glory. Yeah, so after finding my nearest Triumph dealer it was off for a test drive.
Now I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a wee bit intimidated
but after doing some figure 8's in the parking lot the rocket felt easier to ride than anything half that size. Wait, 1/3 that size. Like so many of you I'm sure; that bike was the first thing I thought of when I woke up and the last when I went to bed for the next year. Ownership of a Rocket 3 Classic came back in June 06 and my passion for riding has hit some seriously new highs. I haven't done any mods except for putting on a deer whistle but figure on a tuneboy map in the spring and a sissybar with luggage rack so I can do some touring. Anyone interested in getting some Triumphs together,or whatever you ride, for some weekend riding in Connecticut let me know.
Take care everyone and try to keep it on at least one wheel.

Hello,

My name is Bill Smith. Yes it is really my name. I am new to the rocket forum and live in PA. My friends call me Rocket Man for obvious reasons. They also think I am a little crazy for riding a cycle that is so big. I am a daily rider and like long distance riding.

Sincerely,

Bill "Rocket Man" Smith

Hey guys!
Randy Taylor here, from north middle tn.
Bought 06 rocketIII from southern powersports in Chattanooga and cant say enough good about those good bikers. Great people to deal with.
terrible weather here because of Al Gore's global warming, but at 25 miles, my bike got stuck in 1st gear. dealer fixed it and it seems to be a fluke. Got 280 miles now and love it.

I thought when I sold my 97 T-Bird that I would never find a bike that made me smile like that ever again.
I was wrong!
the rocket is a fantastic machine!

I’ve been active on triumphrat since I bought my 06 Red RIII in July of last year. I just realized I haven’t introduced myself. I traded in my Yamaha V-Star 1100 (great bike!) on my Rocket on my 60th birthday. Almost bought a bigger Yamaha or a Harley, but at the last minute I test rode the Rocket.

Well, knowing this beauty’s reputation, I took it easy at first, but when I goosed it I almost fell off! Right then I knew I was in love! (or was that my first girlfriend?) Anyway, got back to the dealer with a grin a mile wide, pointed to the bike and said: “Me want!”.

In the interests of geriatric ergonomics, I’ve added a few things: Roadster screen and wind deflectors, Rivco risers, Classic pull-back handlebars, shorter Progressive shocks, sissy bar and trunk.

Only crashed it once – a low speed rendezvous with a pothole. Picked it up, rode it home, drove to the emergency room, got my shoulder fixed, and got back on three weeks later. The weather here in Connecticut has not been very cooperative lately, but I have been able to ride at least once or twice each month. Beats putting it in storage.

The RIII is a blast!

Hello; my name is Jim Durst. I hail from Goderich, ON, CA. on the shores of beautiful Lake Huron. I own one of the first, if not the first, Rocket III sold in Ontario. It is an absolutely amazing and beautiful beast ( I'm sure you all- as fellow rocketeers- understand). But- 42000 K's later I got thinking, she could be faster - - - - - , so now I own the first RCC turbo Rocket III which has made 232 hp before overpowering the already modified clutch- mods are being made.

I look forward to chatting with all of you in the near future

Ride safe but ride hard - Rocketjim

Hi!
I just registered. My name is Friedemann. Sounds German to you? It is. But I live in DeKalb, Illinois (USA).
Since June 2006 I am the happy owner of a Rocket3.
The contributions on the Rocket Sience Forum were helpful, when I was looking for first-hand info on the Rocket3 before I bought it.
Thanks!
Friedemann

My name is Brad Finken, Fort Wayne, IN. Recently purchased the 07 Rocket Classic Tourer. Get the tourer model to save money on accessories. Also added performance exhaust w/ cat box removed. Still quiet on highway, but beefy at idle. Added Kuryakyn passenger floorboards, little woman loves'em! Also added aux. adapter (beware U.S. buyers, it's a european socket!)
Looking for Rocket owners in NE Indiana! bradfinken@hotmail.com if you're going to be in the area!

Hey There,
My name is Neil; I joined the forum last week. Didn't get the chance to peruse till now.
I have been looking at Rockets for close to two years. I finally bought mine about a month ago and am loving it. She is an '07 Classic, Pacific Blue/New England White and she is a beauty. So beautiful that I don't think I want to put anything else on her. Though the missus is complaining about lack of a sissy bar. Working that issue now.

Greetings Fellow Rocketeers:
After a 22-year hiatus from riding a 75 Yamaha 650 twin in college, I stumbled upon Triumph. I am a university professor of construction engineering and the institution took my parking space away last fall (big deal when on campus). I used the situation to get back into biking and sat on many bikes with the exception of BMW which I said I would always have. At the local Triumph shop I sat on the Scrambler and my body fell in love with it—still is after 6 months, but wanted to make some cross-country trips with my wife and the Scrambler just is not designed for such.

The road has always been good medicine for me and the academic lifestyle is brutal-contrary to common stereotype. The Scrambler introduced me to Triumph and all the fun I was not having. At 46 yrs, no time to waste, so as with many, hanging out with my new friends at the Triumph shop, I test rode a used R3. End result is my ownership of ‘Amos’, blue/white 07 R3 Classic with Corbin bags and fairing. Got a speeding ticket on my 1st day out with the R3, so I plan on keeping the scrambler around! Been reading the threads on this site and find very informative. Look forward to posting with some of you…from Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
