Hello, thought I'd better intro myself after writing all that stuff 'bout gyroscopic precession in Rocket Science and it was my first time in this forum.

Don't have a Rocket but am having fun at present on an ' 06 Bonnie. However I'm gonna trade that in soon for an ' 07 S3. Can't wait to get the Speed Triple (hope I can handle it!!).

My profile mentions my interests etc. Have lived in Aussie (Perth) 1 year, England, 1 year and the US, 7 years. Favourite area I lived in the US, the Pacific NW (Portland and Seattle) and Missoula Mont. Also lived in Memphis and DC. Have been back in NZ since ' 87.

Looking forward to a possible NZ South Island trip on the S3 early next year.

I love these little smilie dudes, they're great!!

Ritchie.

Have spent the last month just lurking here. taking it all in. purchase my r3 classic mid September after a jerk in a cage totaled my K1200LT out (No noticeable scars on me, still waiting for the jerk) Have added Tri Bags, tall windscreen, cat box eliminator, rivco rear floorboards. rivco riser(yet to install). The rocket is really a replacement for my 1500 intruder. still pondering a replacement for the beemer. Rented a Ultra Classic in Fla. for Bikefest. Nearly 1500 MI in 5 days. I am torn whether to attempt to "Dress" the rocket for touring or to purchase a Ultra for that purpose. to many decisions to many bikes. The new 96" 6 speed Harley is impressive( as v twin baggers go) . Have looked into a hitch & trailer For the Rk. ??? I usually make a couple 4-5000 mi trips per season. Not sure if I can haul all the stuff for a 2week two up trip on a rocket. the bags & Trunks available For the Rocket just dont have the capacity. This rocket just seem like it is the answer for a tourer that like to hang it out whilst in route :horns: :-D

Howdy folks,

I'm Chuck, and I live SSW of Houston, Texas. Recently purchased a 2006 Rocket III Classic (original owner had it a month and put 407 miles on it ... decided it was too big for him).

I have been riding most of my life (born 1953 ... you do the math). Spent 8-1/2 years in the US Navy ... work at a nuclear power plant (been in that field since going in the Navy).

I have had all kinds of bikes ... did nothing but Harley Davidson for about 20 years ... sold the last one in 99 and bought a Yamaha Venture ... traded that in 03 on a new Victory Touring Cruiser ... since I stumbled across a good deal on the Rocket Classic, looks like the Victory will be going up for sale ... really like the Rocket so far (well except for the shocks).

I have been reading here ... lot of good information ... I do make some long trips, so will be dressing out the Rocket with a windshield (or faring), bags, trailer hitch .... and other things that cost too much <LOL>.

I ride with Born Again Motorcycle Ministry (Elder of Chapter Eight) and recently took on the duties of the Secretary for the Houston Confederation Of Clubs (which is a bikers' rights organization for those that are not familiar with it).

Chuck

Hi all,
Jim from South Florida. I bought my 05 Rocket 3 weeks ago and have put a modest 1100 miles on it so far. If I am not working I'm riding.
Previous owner mods include Windscreen, floorboards, tank pads, sissy bar, triumph bags, removed cats, and lots of chrome.
My mods include Hotlicks exhaust flame thrower, dynojet power commander, flange covers.
Future mods, TTS Supercharger, dry nitrous (small 50 shot) and injected flame kit (propane). Carbon Fiber Wheels. Just the small stuff!
I'd love to hear of other rocket owners in the S. Florida Area!
I'm looking for someone to do the Iron Butt Challenge this winter!

Whats up guys. Sold the Harley. Moving to Alabama. Afterwords, my wife wants us to get another bike. I stil like the Harleys, but the Rocket really gets me going.

Oh, Toystoretom, can you send my password for Slidderhd to this e-mail account? Since you don't allow Yahoo, I have been locked out of the site and had to re-register.
