Can Some one tell me how to take off the stock mirrors, before I go nuts. I checked in a search, nothing showed up. Thanks Hammer2. :hammer: :hammer:

Don't go nuts...

Look under the mirror mount, there is an allen bolt that threads up into the mirror stem from underneath... a 6 mm allen wrench will loosen it, remove it and then screw the mirror stem out of the handlebar control housing.

Tried that the mirrors won't come out and on the front brake side it hits the reservoir and the gas side it just turns, it does not come out. Hammer2

I tried to just tighten mine up for they kept 'coming in' at speed. All that allen screw on the bottom does is pull the stem down and through the mount until the screw is fully flush with the bottom of the stem. I haven't had them out entirely but it acts as though the stems are just press fitted into the mounts and the allen screw just keeps 'em snug. Looking for some different mirrors that I can tighten on both sides of the mount.

Remove that allen screw and twist and turn or wiggle on the mirror as you pull up on it. It is a press fit into a sleeve that is supposed to help with vibration. If you can turn it you have broken the press fit and you just need to work it out of there. If you have a bunch of corrosion you may need to spray a little rust penetrant down the bottom of the mirror base into that hole. Pull on it like you own it :-D :-D :-D

Ooops... edit... if the mirror keeps turning in you may have to replace the rubber O ring that fits on that allen screw. Its a big fat one that gets crushed sometimes. Without it the mirror doesn't want to stay in place...
