But there will always be a market for PC3's, since more than likely the "Tuneboy" will cost between $400-$500+ and the tuneing will be more since it is not the standard turn & burn for the PC dyno guys. You may also need YOUR own computer, since the dyno guy may not have the program/or want it on his computer. Just throwing things out there, and hopefully it will be addressed.

Here's What I need right now:

Top Speed limiter gone
Accurate MPH
Aggresive Timing permitting full advantage of 92-93 octane
Full power & fuel control in all gears
Fans on 10-20 degrees sooner

TUNEBOY just downloaded his magic into my Rocket III. First one, ever! I can't beleive the difference! It's absolutely fantastic. I now have full power and fuel control and it's fantastic. You might not be any faster in top speed but you get there a LOT faster! I'd suggest everyone with a Rocket III should contact Wayne MacDonald - his stuff is amazing.
How do we get in contact with him?
and How much?????

Great!

Does Tuneboy also enrich deceleration to eliminate popping?

If it doesn't all you would have to do is change your fuel map to mimic the PC III in that area...

I don't see the Rocket on his website yet but I'm sure he will have it up there soon.... I know he's been working hard on it...

Anyone know when the rocket tunes will be widely available? I think I have been convinced enough to go this route rather than the pc3.

I don't see it there either, which suggests it's not available yet for the Rocket.

If and when it becomes available, Tune Edit will provide access to the Rocket ECM fuel trim map. Apparently, he has software that will emulate a PCIII which allows you to do an auto tune on a DynoJet dyno.

My Triumph mechanic is a DynoJet center but he doesn't do the auto tune - he does it old school - sets every cell manually - all 150 or however many there are.

Before I get the Tune Boy, I want to ask Wayne how a manual dyno tune would be done.

If Tuneboy Wayne can figure out how to modify the maps in the Triumph ECM, why the heck doesn't Triumph give it's dealers and mechanics the ability to fine tune the 6 standard freaking maps they supply for the Rocket?

Wayne said on the Yahoo group that he is waiting on circuit boards to allow the use of USB cables.

I don't think Triumph wants people to alter the ECMs because of noise and emissions, plus warranty issues. Advancing the timing too much could lock up the motor or even leaning it out. Its probably a can of worms that they just don't feel like opening.

FWIW, wayne posted on T595.net that the new version of tuneboy with compatibility for the Keihn ECU (current triumphs) is due for release in about 2 weeks, including features to derestrict the power output in the rocket in lower gears, as well as mapping etc.

Just because you don't see anything on their website doesn't mean that they are not currently working on something. Case and point: K & N claims that have nothing new for the Rocket 3 but I am living proof that they/we are working on a new OEM replacement as well as triples that fit under the clam shell/bear claw...
