Optional, small color-coordinated flyscreen a great buy IMO. Design complements that the rest of the bike (versus looking like an add-on) and gives it a unique and ... er... sporty appearance. Wind deflection or protection is remarkably good, at least up to about 80 mph. Highly recommended... but I am not at all into full-size cruiser/dresser-type windshields. Only lil' drawback is a somewhat restricted access to the ignition switch, at least with winter gloves. Best wishes, mate.

I got mine with the fly screen as well... I rode over 600 miles this weekend and the fly screen provides enough protection to keep you from feeling like a parachute at legal highway speeds. Outside of the legal limit, you will need to lean into the wind, but it definitely serves it's purpose.. and looks great! For extra wind protection, a full face helmet works well.. :)

Grizz... I have both the flyscreen and the WindVest 16 x 16. The flyscreen works a treat even at high speeds. I mean nothing will stop you from being windblown on a R3 at warp speed! I like the WindVest but it is a pain to adjust and at high speed I think it is less effective than the simple and sexy flyscreen!!

My two cents..

The flyscreen looks good as it fits down snug to the headlights, and the upper portion is far enough away from the rider to minimize turbulence.
However, a full shield tends to be my preference for serious distance riding. Mine is a custom piece using a two-point handlebar mount that goes on or off in minutes. The shield is 21" wide and 24" bottom to top, with an installed height around 18" putting the upper edge just below my chin if sitting upright, but more importantly, the 55 degree rake puts the upper edge reasonably close to the helmet so it is completely turbulence free at all speeds.
