Has anyone found some good rear shocks that are not so pricey? Progressive 440s sound great, but they better be at $450 each! That's a little out of my wallets' reach. Anything around the $200 each?

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. I was on a website which listed Progressive 440 shock- $439.00, qty. 1.
I was OK with that. When I clicked finish order button, the qty. changed to 2 and the price was $878.00. Was this a fluke on this site? Are Captains paying $439 or $878 for a PAIR of shocks?

That price is for the pair.. I think Qty 1 means one pair. I purchased them last year and only paid $400 some odd dollars for the pair. You could always call or shoot off an email to clarify...

Here is where I purchased them from.... Scroll down to the 440's:

ACC Whse

Looks like a good deal at $388....

Here is the applications for the Rocket III from the progressive website:

Progressive Suspension

I strongly suggest you stay with the 12.5 inch shocks, they clear the pipes.. bags... keep the stock steering angles....

Thanks for clearing this up for me. It was the Honda Direct site that changed the quantity and price on me when I was going to order them. I was trying to figure out all this time why everybody was willing to pay 8 or 900 dollars for a pair of shocks.

I didn't know you had those Ron (the 412's). I'll bet that if you set up two Rockets... one with 440's and one with 412's and blindfolded me I couldn't tell the difference. Wait... that's not right.

Anyone else have the 412's? They are about $200 cheaper than the 440's, that would be a great alternative to the stockers.

Thanks Ron :-D

They work just like the 440's, I rode another R3 with 440's on it for comparison and couldn't tell any difference.. :upthumb:
