I hope I have a plan for all of this!

Ok, I got myself into one heck of a Todo list. Not to complain as this is the kind of todo list I like. Well lets see. First I got my gear oil for the final drive to do this weekend. Then I have the OBDII cable that should arrive today so I can try to get rid of that popping noise during decell with TuneECU. Next I am waiting for newR3 to ship me my rivco passenger floor boards and relocators, oh and don't forget the Kuryakyn ISO Throttle Boss that should arrive shortly. I am also expecting my ignition relocation kit. Last but definitely not least, I just ordered my Jardine Rumblers and they will hopefully be here by next weekend.

Lets just say I will be spending a good amount of time in my garage for the next couple of weeks!

Oh, and does anyone know a tune for Jards and regular air intake? I guess I am going to have to put that in as well. Now I just need to find the Tripple K&N setup and Bearclaw.

I will try to post some pics of my adventures in cursing as long as it doesn't get too bloody! If anyone has any advice about any of these projects they are welcome!

No feedback or suggestions but I'm kind of in the same boat. Need to install all the stuff that I got for my upcoming trip: quick-release sissybar + luggage rack, handlebar risers, electrically heated grips, a Kuryakyn chrome 12v outlet for the handlebars, a second RAM mount (already put on the first one, for the iPhone to do GPS duty, wrapped in a Lifeproof waterproof case) which will be primarily to hold a camera to film with and as a secondary thing to be a cup holder. RAM mounts are awesome.

Already put on a Laminar Lip to deal with helmet buffeting (worked perfectly) too.

The only thing still missing but on its way is the Kuryakyn Grantour bag which will go on the aforementioned luggage rack; combined with the panniers I should have plenty of luggage space. The TLC products pannier liners arrived last week too - awesome awesome liners with embroidery included for free, thin and light so they don't use up much space but nicely stitched and seem very sturdy, should seriously make things easier when loading/unloading the bike.

The idea of getting under the tank is a bit daunting for a non-mechanic like myself (for the electrical connections) but I'll still give it a whirl.

Sounds like a good amount of work as well. When I first started looking at putting some of the stuff on I was almost terrified about doing anything the Rocket. I went through some of the forums and read the walk throughs and installation instructions before I even ordered some items to verify that I could even do it. One good thing is with all the information in the forums you almost always can find an answer.

How could you not like that Bap,Bap,bap, bap when decelerating???? That happens because fresh oxygen can enter the pipe and ignites the residual fuel right at the head. As far as I know you will have that to some extent as long as you run an open exhaust.I just wired in an accessory plug for my GPS off ignition. I would like to get a taller windshield to stop the buffeting, seems worse depending which way the wind is coming from. I use a Throttle Rocker and I like it.

Wow, where to start.
ok, first, don't be intimidated by lifting the tank and propping it
on the wand Triumph so thoughtfully provided.
Next, a service manual would be very handy
for some of these projects.
The decibel popping on deceleration is because you're not tuned exactly right.
Rich or lean can both be corrected one of several ways,
starting with the most expensive to the least.
1) tuneboy, around $600.00
2) dynojet PC 3 or 5 around 3-5 hundred depending which you go with
3) Dobeck EFI controller around $150.
4) tuneECU free except for the $16. cable.
a quick, easy, handy, cheap improvement is to get and install
is a Gi-Pro w/ ATRE.
It eliminates the 7% restriction from the factory,
plus gives ya a nifty gear indicator.
a Stebel air horn is the first improvement I did.
Fairly cheap and easy install.
Good luck on all your projects guys.
If I can help in any way, shoot me an e-mail.
My e-mail is rocket3man@rocketmail.com
and I check it every couple days.

I actually found the service manual online in PDF form. Still, don't think I'll necessarily need it just to dismount the seat and prop up the tank, but nice to have it for reference if need be.

The risers should have been mounted stock. They totally transformed the seating position and allowed me to angle the bars down a little more which did great things for the wrist angle, I wasn't comfortable with that either in stock configuration.

I got Hosed Tommy, I got Hosed!

Well so far still waiting on the foot pegs and the Jards. Just found out today that Pure-Triumph never shipped my Ignition Relocation kit. Sent email asking about status as they have been listed as processing for over two weeks now. All I got back was "We got a notice from rivco that this is no longer available." Ouch, could of let me know about that. So now I have to scour in hopes that someone still has one. If anybody knows where I can find some it will be much appreciated. Can't really blame Pure-Triumph for this but I wish they would have informed me at some point so I could try to get one from somewhere else in time.

I already started stripping the exhaust off the R3 as the Jards should be here Thursday and we have possible Thunderstorms for the next couple of days so I wont be riding. I will have to shine her up real nice though.

Yeah they say Rivco has ADD on making parts, if they don't sell great they just stop making them. The engine bars are also discontinued (I got the Triumph originals, love em, but still.)

Well I got my Jardines at 6PM Last Night and got cracking on putting them on. They actually went on quite simply. The only pain was the header heat shields. They didnt seem to want to go on where they were supposed to.

The Header went on without a hitch and I only had to use 3 copper crush gaskets as some had suggested 6. After getting the header on I had to step back and look. I must say that the black did look pretty damn good. The rest of the exhaust went on without much trouble. The first attempt I notice the connection from the Left of the bike to the right exhaust was barely together. For a moment I was about to lose it until I noticed that I had the exhaust on the outside of the brackets and not the inside. Which of course these little details are not in the instructions, but should have been obvious. Once I re-attached the left and right silencers they connected great and had plenty of overlap. I tightened it all down and gave it a good cleanup to get my prints off of it to test for leaks. No Leaks!

After this its all down hill, or so I thought. The Heat shields and vacuum / heat wrapped in a plastic coating that in some spots is near impossible to get off. On the insides of the shields I spent at least a good hour trying to get the stuff off. It was almost as if it melted onto the metal! Well after using some goobegone (unsuccessfully) and then a torch lighter (Much better) I got it all cleaned up. I must say though I didnt like how the heat shields connected. It didn't look all that clean and didn't cover the header in all places. Ah I guess I expected a bit more for the cost. I must say it was all worth it when my wife walked down and the look on her face when I started it up. I guess that was her seal of approval.

Love the Rumble!

Screwed Again!

Well as I posted before the Ignition Relocation kit has been a non-starter. I was hoping someone would have on in a stock room somewhere. Well Then I get another email from Newr3 stating that the Floorboards will ship (Most Likely) late August! Well that just sucks! I had to cancel the order unfortunately. I know it isn't NewBonnevilles fault I just hate the fact that its been just a pain to get anything from Rivco. I learned my lesson though. No more online orders until they confirm stock! I have found about 8 sites that have listed the Ignition Relocation Kit and all have come back stating that it is no longer available. Some still have them on there site still though! The local dealer is getting me a set in next week so I can have them on for a ride the wife and I want to take.
