Anyone close to Deal's Gap??? A few VTXers are meeting me (the sole Rocket) to ride the Dragon this Friday and Saturday!.

Come on out and join us if you are anywhere near by!!!

Unless we change it!!!!! The weather looks to be clear for both Friday and Saturday at this point, and I think it's going to be in the high 80's....

I'm planning to leave VA on Thursday morning 11/17 and if all goes well, I'll spend Thursday - Saturday in Maryville (or close by). Friday will be a scouting day, so if anyone wants to join in, give me a call at 303-522-6525. I won't be starting toooooo early!!!!!

The Saturday Ride - Breakfast in Maryville at around 9:00-9:30 at the IHOP. Then, we'll ride the Dragon!!!!!!!!

I'm hearing we may just break the Guiness Book of Records for # of X's and Rockets on the Dragon at one time on November 19th, 2005!!!!!

I've heard from a few Xers saying they will try to make it and that would be great! But, no harm/no foul if you can't make it !!!!! (We'll only talk about those who aren't there..... )

Then, Off to Denver Sunday morning...... Who's in?????

Seems like there are a few motels/Inns in Maryville. I have a room at this place, but Wilma may not have any other's available... feel free to call her or let me know if I should stay somewhere else.

The rocket did just fine on the Dragon... I was starting to get warmed up by the time I had to leave. I didn't drag the pegs as much as I thought I would... that road is nicely banked and very fun!!!!!

I was at the Dragon this past weekend. Rode it on both Friday and Saturday. Rode the Dragon 3 times plus the foothills parkway and the Cherohala Skyway. Great roads all of them.

What a great place to ride. I drove my 04 RS there from Texas and met up with my bud there who rode from NYC. When I got back I traded it in for my RIII.
I had a tank bag with rain gear and got caught up in rain both going and coming back from the "Tail". But the ride day was dry.
Let me know when the "ALL ROCKET III DRAGON'S TAIL RIDE" event happens and I will be the first one there.

I'd be excited too. I wish I wasn't 2500+ miles away or I'd ride it at least once a month. Anybody that loves twisties would be in heaven at Deal's Gap! They have some really cool t-shirts and posters for sale also...
