Saw my first 2006 Rocket on todays Rat Ride so it was a case of spot the differences! As others have mentioned, the clocks have been relocated forward presumably to allow the tank to hinge upward more easily and off course, the black motor.

Then I noticed it. The boffins at Hinkley have re-routed the rear brake line out of harms way!!! Click for pic

I wonder if someone from T-rat brought this to their attention 9 months ago when this was being discussed on the forum here or are they secretly tuning in for free discussion group info???

PS If I was Hinkleys lawyer, I think I'd be advising them to do a recall on the entire 10,000 2005 Rockets and retrofit the new brake line for free.

I just installed a new tire and noticed that the brake line on the swing arm is getting hit by the bolt from the r/s passenger foot peg. Is that the problem? I just moved it over and tie-wrapped it. Seems o.k. now........

My 13-month old problem with the brake line, if we're all talking about the same issue, is that it follows the r/h chrome undercarriage tube which scrapes badly once the r/h peg itself is about one-third worn-out. So, if that tube wears out or just collapses, the rear brake goes. Some folks called it a " potential safety hazard" on this forum (9 or more months ago?). But one bloke sternly responded that given my description of the circumstances, I was the safety hazard. Ha! ha!

Case dismissed, therefore, as far as I am concerned. The dealer has spare pegs and replacement undercarriage tubes on hand for me

Was it a 'Classic' with footboards or a 'Standard' with footpegs?

When you put the Triumph footboards on a 2005, the brake line is also rerouted.
Ogre, Was the standard version, in black of course! Click here

All of the above. And a custard... oops... "scorched yellow" finish. The plated cam cover is now an option. That's about it.

BTW, if I were in the market for one, I'd seize a 2005 edition.

I don't know about that black engine. You can't tell if it's clean.
