I have read a lot of conflicting information on whether the individual K&N filters (RU-2780) fit under the chrome clamshell. I can't tell whether those who have said it does fit are just guessing or are actually running the configuration with the clamshell cover? Sorry to bring this up again but with the recent post indicating that K&N is developing a new filter for this very purpose; one that is shorter than the RU-2780 and angled to fit under the shell, I don't want to spend 90 bucks if they aren't going to fit!

Another thing that fits. Take a piece of aluminum cut three holes, trim the intake rubber, fit it in holes, put three small filters on the plate, make another plate, bolt sandwitch together. Works good and it's cheap, probably cheaper than one K&N and probably as effective.
