Anyone know of good web site for pictures of custom paint ideas? Our friend just picked up his new Rocket III last Friday. He wants a custom paint job on it. What he is looking for is American flag. Wants it to look like he drove through the flag. We are doing his computer looking for him. Thanks.

On the Big Dog Choppers web site. I noticed last night as I was looking at what other companies are painting on their bikes that they had a few different styles of American Flag paint plans for tanks... It is hard to see exactly what it would look like because most of the pictures are side profile shots, but you might be able to get some ideas.

Ok, here is the route to take to see their designs...

go to www.bigdogmotorcycles.com
Big Dog Motorcycles

then enter their flash web site

on the left side menu, click on the paint and graphics option

then on the main viewing window click on the Level 7 choice at the top.

If you roll over the different tanks with your mouse, you will see a larger version of the paint job.

Like I said, you might get some ideas...

take care, ride safe...

OK... what Triumph is it (The America?) that has a Union Jack flowing on one side of the tank and the Bars and Stars on the other? It is very cool if you see it in person and I'm pretty sure its factory paint....

I said this before but I have a local kid who painted just the eyes of a Japanese woman on the side of his Titan (pickup truck) and it is so unnerving I'm sure it causes wrecks. The other side has a Begal Tiger that is just as awesome. If you get a good painter the design isn't so important.

If I put an Aussie flag on my bike can I be an honorary Ozmand?

:-D

In reality any flag would probably be good to look at so maybe he can get his point across as to what he wants if he finds the right example. I personally think that if he just goes in to the painter and explains what he wants and if the painter is any good it will happen. But he wanted us to help him out so we are. We printed several examples last night (part of what was suggested here) and some other ones I found. Will take him what we found tonight. I thank you guys for your help.

Was bored decided to do some more searching. Check this one out. Being a very proud country Texas girl, I like this one. Even if it isn't exactly what he was looking for.

Here are great flag examples done by a fellow custom painter across the pond - Sam Hughes

His site is bikeart.co.uk

Mike Lavallee (Killer Paint) is a first rate custom painter based in Washington state and he is the originator of the popular Tru-Fire realistic flames that every other painter wants to copy today. I don't recall him ever doing waving flag work though.

Realistic waving flag work is difficult to pull off so whoever you pick to paint should have a good amount of airbrushing experience. They don't necessarily need to have done flag work before, but definitely should have at least a few years airbrush experience.

If your friend is near Houston, Sunshine, I highly recommend my good painter friend James Armentor. His site is armentorartworks.com

Of course, I wouldn't be a painter if I didn't recommend my own services. I'm in the upper midwest in MN and you can see my work at MainstreamMedia.com

Good luck and have fun. That's what true custom paint is all about.

I couldn't get the link to work for your Houson friend. The one across the pond had another great flag, too. And of course you have to promote your site even though you are too far North. Thanks again.
