Bikernoob and Jamie came up with this idea. Here is a spot to suggest to manufacturers new products that aren't available as of yet for the Rocket III. If you have an idea, or maybe you have built a homemade example of something useful... place it in this thread. Let me know if there is some way you would like it to be organized. I think responses to ideas would be OK, and maybe we can improve on the original idea. Two heads are better than one, right?

Ladies and Gents...please post away!!!

Speaking to Holly at Rivco, she tells me Rivco are prepared to develop more new products for the R3 if someone would loan their bike. With the onset of winter in Burlington Wi, here's you opportunity to help the rest of us out and maybe score so freebies for yourself while your bike is laid up for the winter!

Ahhh, the sun is shining here, I might just go for a ride. Naaah, I'll wait till tomorrow 'cos the sun'll still be shinin'.

Davo :-D

HI!

So here's my wishful list to good doctor Rivco:

1. Steering column area chrome covers, wrapping around the column and covering the down tubes to the radiator. Would be a good match for the available OEM chrome rear frame covers.
2. Raised rider peg mount system, allowing for better cornering clerance while retaining the "cruiser" overall posture. Nothing too radical. Maybe with some fore & aft adjustability.
3. L/h side license plate mounting bracket. Universal size, please, as legal-size or state-issued European plates are much larger than American ones. Also, plate lighting required in most countries.
4. Smaller, leaner font guard, steel or plastic. Preferably replicating the flowing arrow-shaped contour of the rear guard (which the current, massive HD-inspired guard misses), except facing forward (ha! ha!), kinda like the optional flyscreen. To be painted
5. Small belly pan, steel or plastic, easily removable. To be painted

And, NOT for me but, if if I recall fit-up problems reported by Serge (of France):

6. "MKII" crash bars compatible with the ex-factory alarm system

Now Bro's: Let's just IMAGINE going shopping ... and try to come up with a consolidated list. And then let's try to make it happen! BTW, Tomo, if I could somehow be of help in the tallying of it or otherwise, let me know. Best

Has someone volunteered to belly up their Rocket for Rivco yet? I'm in Minnesota so winter will have me down for the count in about a week. I'd do it if nobody has arranged it yet.

Let me know if I can help out and what I'd need to do.

Giles

05 Rocket - only 2128 miles and all's well.

Either a low rider seat with back rest for rider. Or a back rest for Triumph's low rider seat.

AussieBikerDave, You should have riding both days. We did.

Classicflh, and all of you other Northern States rides. I feel sorry for you guys having to put your bikes up for the winter. Glad I am a Texas girl. Might have a day or two with some black ice particularly at night but nothing to keep the bikes put up for weeks or months.

Looks like someone (Darkside) from the R3 list has already committed to park his Rocket at Rivco for the winter. He's 50 miles away and I'm 200+. Hell, I thought I'd get it washed if I left it there until spring.

But I'm still riding! November 9th and its still above 40 degrees here. Won't be long before we get snow or ice though.

I'd still do it if Darkside has a change of mind.

Next mission will have to be talking some sweet thing into a photo session with the Rock. Well, I can dream can't I!

I would love to be able to mount Givi hard cases to the Rocket without custom fabrication (ie. them making a mounting kit). I have the Triumph leather bags but I have always been a fan of removable hard cases.

Givi - Monokey

How about a crash shield that goes under the engine so when you go bouncing off of those speed bumps.... :-D

There will be one-ies and two's-ises, no doubt. But maybe, we could rally around a few initial "Rivco Please!" pleas. From my 14 months of RIII ownership, I sense a broad interest in a) a streamlined front fender (several folks have chopped various HD guards) b) a side license plate mounting device (several folks have built their own), c) a belly pan (know of a few of attempts to build one from scratch or to modify an existing one) and d) more chrome covers and misc. plated bits and pieces. That could be just enough to get Rivco interested in expanding its curent --and seemingly static-- line of RIII mods. I, for one, would place an order right away for a) and b) . Perhaps for c) as well.

Anyway, please consider posting your "must have" product expectations.
