Just delivered - black, 68" long, and 714lbs. Mother and Father are doing just fine.

I found a 2005 Rocket in the classifieds section of this site and bought it last week. I had to wait a week for delivery from LA to Sacramento but now that it's here, I can't seem to get off of it. We are having our typcial great fall weather so why not ride? This bike is soooooo much fun and I love that it sounds (and looks) different. My last two bikes were both V-twin cruisers.....kinda like the 10 bazillion other V-twin cruisers on the road......but the Rocket, especially with the D&D pipes the previous owner installed, sounds like a frickng turbine propelled bike!

Anyway, just want to say thanks for keeping this site alive and for all who post here from time to time. I've learned a lot already. One last thing, the previous owner junked the license plate holder and moved the turn signals. He never got around to adding another holder (no cops in LA?) so I need to either replace the tail light with a combo tail light/license plate holder or just add a plate holder somwhere else on the bike. Any ideas?

Any idea? Yes: Disregard such pedestrian details. At least for the time being. Meanwhile: ENJOY. The baby (?) bike. Yourself for being on the top of it. The fun. This forum

Hey Rico, welcome to the club... finally. Rivco Pruducts make an alternative licence plate holder that bolts up the same as the stocker. It brings the plate up closer to the guard to expose more rear wheel and also brings the blinkers closer in for a cleaner look.

I have one on mine and am very happy with it. Cost is about $65 US and you can purchase from NewR3.com

Thanks for the link Dave. Now that I'm looking around in there I came across these bars. Anyone have them?

Hey Rico...

At the risk of being a smart arse... those bars can be had at.. Taa Daa... the New Rocket3... same place that Davo mentioned for the license plate bracket... just look at your own link.

Congrats on your purchase... you're gonna love it!!!

Hey Rico again...

I misunderstood your question.... my apologies... I don't have them but they do look good on the bike. It looks like you would need long arms for those to be comfortable. A lot of people go the other route... and put on the Rivco risers to lessen the strain on the ole' shoulder joints :-D

No apology needed Mr. Tom. I misunderstand my own questions more often than not. Rivco risers were on my list but the look of those bars is what caught my eye. Perhaps the Rivco risers AND the bar? Any volunteers?
