Being it's first birthday, I shut up a little early and took the Rocket for a ride this arvo. The bike has now covered over 33,000klm and I noticed a number of things.
1. It has not become "loose" to ride but still has that "tight" new feel to its motor and chassis.
2. It sure romps when the road clears and you twist that grip.
3. It has remained totally dependable although it does have some "character" issues which remind me that I am riding a bike with personality that is a livin' breathin' thing as opposed to a bland-as-sushi appliance that your typical Honda provides.
4. Being three bikes in one, cruiser, sports bike and tourer, it has no peer.
I would like to able to report on a lengthly list of milestones and events in it's life but in reality, theres nothing much to report. There's been no spills (to speak of), no mechanical failures, not even any speeding tickets. Just many incredible weekend rides with Rocket captains Bigwillie, Nugget, Peter and others as well as a 1400km round trip to the NSW annual Rat Raid at Pt Macquarie.
Accessories include Mad Dogs (of course) some Rivco stuff, 13" Progressives, some Triumph stuff and some home made heel rests. Last power reading was 134.8HP which is a hell of a lot better than the Beesa Bantam I started out on!
I'm 'appy, Davo
