I figured we would ask agent Bikernoob this question, since he is one of the only guys that have seen the new models, (non-dealer).

Dear Bikernoob,

I am interested in the actual marketing of the 'Gold' Rocket III. Did you actually see a sign labeling it as Gold when you snuck in? I saw a picture of it and can't decide if it is the old yellow paint they had with the 2005 bike, minus the ghost flames, or if it is really GOLD....

Please educate me.

Thanks for any help you can provide...if anybody else knows the answer, please ring in.....

Respectfully,

trey way

In the pic I saw it looked to be the color Triumph calls "Scorched Yellow" though a lot of people would call it gold.

They do have somebody in their styling dept who is semi-color blind. How else would they come up with "Nuclear Red" for a color that came to be nicknamed (because it was obviously) "Dogpecker Pink"? :-D :-D :-D

It definitely wasn’t yellow, but not straight gold either. Almost like that new bright yellow/gold you see on sports cars like Nissans 350z.

I believe that it is same color that is used on the 2005 Speed Triple.

Not sure exactly what color it is, but from the pic I saw, with the combo of the black engine, the chrome, and the color it may be the best looking bike I have ever seen.

BTW, it's no R3, but here is a pic of my Valk:
