OH YEAH!!!
Put my deposit down on a 2005 Rocket (Fast Black of course, hehe). I won't be able to sleep for the next wek and a half till I pick her up. Also can't wait for all the "short guy with the biggest bike" jokes. This is gonna be GREAT!
FYI $14,300 new leftover. Not including accessories, tax, title, etc., ect....
Let me know if I did okay. Then again, please don't. I don't want to break this euphoria.
Jap bikes all my life...Honda CB, Kawi KZ, Ninja, Yam YZF1000, FZ1, Suz SV650.
Of all the bikes I've bought, I can't remember being this excited to hop on a new bike. The wife says "she doesn't even know who I am anymore.

I was you about 1 1/2 years ago! I had only owned different jap sport bikes - same as you mentioned then bought a Daytona 955 sport bike then came the ROCKET!!! I can tell you without hesitation that you're going to ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! Comfort, looks, speed a real eye catcher for sure. AND you can still have a little of that sport bike feel too. YES you can do wheelies! I'm getting better slowly but surely. I think if I had two RIII's I'd be much better by now but that's a pretty expensive toy to drop! *****! Good luck to you and your new bike. Ride safe

At $14,300 you did very well. Its always nice to save money and get a good deal but value is something that stays long after the intial purchase is made (Who said that??). And what I mean by that is you will love this bike for a long time to come. You will get on it every day and be amazed at how much power it has and how well it handles for such a large bike. I've had all sorts of different bikes and none had the lasting power the Rocket has. I was always looking for something else.

Anyway... Congrats and Rock on!!!!

Hey R3wannab, you'll soon have to change your name to R3newb or somesuch! Anyways, congrats on a smart choice. I've had mine about 12 months and it still awes me every time I ride it. You're gonna looove this motorcycle!

Well if you are in Connecticut, you are not the only short guy riding a big bike. I bought mine at Libby's in New Haven and they tell me that a few months before I got mine a woman at 5ft 6in bought one. I am 5ft 8in myself. I was worried also about being a little on the short side but as you found out you have to be REALLY short to have a problem.

Wait until you feel the acceleration this bike gives when a short guy is riding it!!!

If you ever feel like riding and you are close by give me a call.

"Breaking the Japanese cycle"? Which brand? model?. They are no longer as reliable as they used to be, are they? ... Ha ha ha!

Anyway: CONGRATS. Your only regret will be to have waited so long!

Welcome on board (and BTW: "nice hearing from you" to your wife, from all the members here...).

My Girlfriend fully sympathizes with you wife and has the added disappointment that nobody shows any interest in her bike when we park together (hers is a 99 wide glide).
