I have tried the search but cannot find the advice I am looking for, so here goes:
1. What shocks are best? I have found a supplier in UK for progressives but I am runing maddogs so the 13" wont fit apparantly so whats the next best option?
2. I am after a new seat, what are the choices? I am want a comfy dualseat for long distance touring, pillion seat must be comfy too. Any got the Corbin dual tourer? Is it as good as they say? I have the Triumph Touring Gel Seat but both pillion and I have numb bum syndrome after 100+ miles.
3. I have the maddog zorsts (excellent) with catbox but since installation I get backfiring/popping on overrun and more worryingly I have recently experienced loud backfiring through air intake when throttle blipped. Is there a simple "tune fix" or any other mod to ease this phenomenum? anyone else had similar problems with the Maddogs??

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks all

This may help a little:

Go with the 12.5 inch progressives.. I have the Mad Dogs (great pipes!) and the 12.5's fit just fine... also that IS the correct size. The stock Triumph shocks are 12.5's..

I have a Corbin Fastgun seat which is a single and love it.. I have never tried any of the Corbin dual seats but I would have to guess they are just as good as the singles. If you have never had a Corbin they are hard.... but you can sit in them for a much longer time than the stock.

Popping.... How many miles on your bike? It seems many new Rockets take a little time to learn whats going on. Did you do the 12 minute tune when you put on the Mad Doggies? What Triumph tune number are you running? You should have 20053 (if you do have a real cat) or 20056 (if the catbox is empty) . I also have a Power Commander III... this takes care of all the popping...

You may want to post this on the Rocket Workshop... let the gearheads over there take a crack at it.. :-D

Tomo

Thanks for the info, which 12.5 progressives do you have?

I did do the twelve minute tune and I have not had the ecu changed so it is running the standard tune with a full catbox. should I get it remapped?

Thanks

Progressive Website application for Rocket III

If you don't have a Power Commander... I would change the Triumph tune...

Same solo Corbin seat and MD pipes as Tomo. OEM-length Wilbers shocks in the back, though. Supposedly the best (gotta be, they're the most expensive), but finding the right setting ain't that easy. As to decel popping, it actually disappeared (well, almost) the minute I installed the doggies (that's with the cat litter on and the TOR tune), for reasons I won't even try to understand. The Wilbers ARE doggies compatible, BTW. Hope this helps.

Jamie , has taken me a while to find the best settings on the wilbers , they were fantastic from the factory , but with all that adjustment to fine tune , they look good though , :-D
