Ozark Mts. Roads??

Yo Gang,

It looks like Herself and I are headed to the Rat Raid at the Gap next Thursday evening. Weather is one of the factors in the final destination of the trip, but we where thinking of then heading to the Ozark Mts. after the Raid. I'm doing some research on the net & Fayetteville AR is having it's sixth annual rally the next week after the raid.

Anyone got some roads/places I shouldn't miss, while on my possible trip to Ozark Mts.??

My favorites are Hwy 123 from its interesection with Hwy 7 near Pelsor to Mount Judea and back. It needs to be seen from both directions. My other favorite is Hwy 103 North from its junction with Hwy 164 just west of Clarksville to Hwy 215, then west to Hwy 23.

Hwy 23 is known as the Pig Trail because it was, in conjuction with Hwy 16, the shortcut from Interstate 40 to Fayetteville before I-540 was completed. Fayetteville is the home of the University of Arkansas whose mascot is the Razorback hog.

Highway 7 from Russellville to Jasper and Hwy 23 from I-40 to Eureka Springs are probably the major scenic routes, but it is hard to find a bad ride anywhere in northwest Arkansas.
