Stevered from that forum gave me a lots of informations about Staintune exhaust for the Rocket III.
He is very happy with that set up.

If other members use that exhaust system on their Rocket, I would be happy to have their opinion :
level of noise, sound, quality.....
Thanks.

Other Motorcycle: BMW K1200 R Sport
Sound:Mighty, cool but still not too loud. Also seems noise is going "away" from the bike better tha original pipes
Appearance: biased, ofcourse, but looks great and douesnt stick out on the sides as much as original.
Quality: Had a fastener to the heatshields come off, but easily welded back, but everything just seems rock solid.
MAP: 20054, and I have no problems with backfiering and/or popping.
Pics: some here

Thank you Rocket-tre,

I see that you're using the complete set up with the collector.

Did the sound restrictors came in the box with the set up ?

Do you use them sometimes ?

What about the noise with them mounted ?

Do you have some problems with the EFI with them mounted (20054 ok with those small baffles) ?

I know I am asking a lot of questions but the set up is quite expensive too !
:-D

Trackerjack, In your pics album, do you have any idea where the headlight came from on the red R3?? I like that idea, since the headlights on the R3 suck. It looks almost like a Honda VTX 1800 lamp, but larger......

Aussiekeeper it is a VTX headlamp...

Tracker, just a thing I noted this morning. The Rocket is stamped at putting out 91db at 3000 rpm at standstill (a sticker on the drive shaft). The Staintune 3 into 1 exhaust 'without the baffles' also puts out 91 db at 3000 rpm. So the same noise levels but a better sound by the Staintune system. Staintune will send you some metal patches to put on the brackets with the noise test if you ask them.

Steve, Just to add some extra info here, our noise testing of the stock Triumph system demonstrated 91 dbl when measured in the legally defined way on the left hand side, and 94 dbl when measured on the right hand side. This of course should come as no surprise for obvious reasons. We discovered a similar difference when we sound measured our own pipes.

I'm just a simple man Davo... :-) As long as it's legal. I got pinched once just because I hadn't put the new stickers on saying my custom pipes were legal... Cops were out on the old road raising some revenue! :hammer:

Trackerjack, was it hard to get a vtx headlamp onto the rocket? i love that set up it is way cool would love to do the same on my future rocket and the fact that its red is really a nice look. although i still think a blue rocket would look good with that headlamp too

Bonjour Tracker...

I pulled my old Cat box out of storage and took it home where my Rocket lives. Jack I cannot see how you could replace the cat box with just the stainless collector without the stainless pipes. It just doesn't seem to work friend... Maybe Staintune have a different set of connectors where their pipes fit directly to the cat box.

Sorry!! Oh I tried to pm you but still the email is not fixed???? Tommo, Shawn??
