Perhaps you can fill a towel full of ice cubes and strap it to your right knee. As the ice melts, the water will flow down your leg, thereby cooling it. When you reach your destination you can either polish your bike with the dry towel or re-fill for the trip home. Always trying to help.

IMO..These are the best riding boots i've owned. There easy to get on and easy to get off. High enough to take the heat on the left leg. Made by Chippewa. http://www.chippewabootshop.com/ 27862 Black Odessa Rally Boot. Maybe it's just me but after riding air-cooled V-Twins the Rocket is a cool thing. The only time I notice it getting hotter is in stop and go traffic.

If you really want to chill the right leg , take your pipes to jet hot coatings(its in phoenix!) and have them ceramic coated(inside and out). I run a custom header with NO heat shields, and the ceramic coating really does the job. Think it was about $200. Jet hot is one of the only places that will do inside as well as out.

You guys/gals may have done/discussed this, but replacing the cat box aka mini bake oven, does wonders in getting rid of some of the heat. Also sounds better.

I too live in the Phoenix area and am concerned with the heat. I exchanged emails with the folks at Thunderbike regarding the fit of their louvers on the new R3 Touring. The R3T's were just arriving in New Zealand and they were going to check on the fit as soon as possible. From the pictures I suspect they will fit just fine.

On a side note, the falling dollar has boosted the price of the louvers $30 over the last week.

I'm also considering a set of Predators (ceramic coated), but as with everything else, I suspect getting a set for the Tourer may take a while. I've had truck headers Jet Hot Coated and the reduction in radiated heat is amazing.

I'm in El Paso so I feel your pain. Unfortunately cat box/TORS is going to have to wait till the winter so it's going to be a brutal summer. My solution so far- stay out of town as much as possible and go fast!
