I have TORS (Triumph Off Road Silencers) on the way, any tips on removal of stock and installation of TORS ?

(Do not have shop manual, dealer is 125 miles away. Have cat bypass pipe installed- 20055 tune)

Is it simple take off stock mufflers, and how ? - Do I just slip (snugly) on TORS ? Do i need new gaskets ?? If so can I use generic and which ?

Thanks for all input

Hey Dixon, changing your pipes is childs play! Just start undoing the rear footpeg mounting bolts, remove the chrome dresser plates with a 3mm hex tool (Allen key), loosen the muffler clamps at the cat box (14mm socket from memory) and work the pipes away from the bike.

Fitting new pipes is just the opposite procedure. I am not sure if the TORs come with new wire mesh gaskets. If not use the old ones if you can get them out without destroying them!

It's a very easy job. Davo

The TOR pipes just slip on in place of the stock pipes. They DO come with new gaskets. It took me about 30 minutes to install them.

As both guys have said it is a snap to install and the gaskets do come with the kit. Don't expect much noise though. If you don't install the cat-bypass pipe your sound increase will be minimal.

I have remove the cat and installed a bypass. Whilst doing it I ran the bike with the cat on and no exhaust. There was not much noise.
In fact I think that when it comes to noice:
cat and no exhaust = decat + standart exhaust.

My TORs came with replacement wire mesh gaskets. It is almost impossible to get the old ones out to re-use. Believe me, I tried.
