Am seriously considering adding the turbo but my mechanic/engine builder/engineer warns me of potential loss of driveability or ending up with an engine that only goes fast well. I still want a good all around bike but with more kahunas...

Yeah I was considering the Turbo... The write ups were all good and the variable vane technology all but eliminates the flat spots. The Turbo is much cleaner than the Supercharger too. But i just had to ask myself... WHY?? This thing goes plenty fast and if you remove the secondaries you can get rid of the restrictors on first and second gear. Some other little mods for half the price of the Turbo will get you around 140 -145 at the rear wheel. OK the Turbo will give you 200 and the Blower will get you 230... But like all mods you will never get your money back on them... But you will go FASSST!!!

Turbo sounds cool and the cleaner way to go for forced induction. The engine is low compression and seams like a perfect platform for turbocharging. I don't know how it will affect reliability.

I am waiting for someone to do some serious engine work on one of these beasts.

Let's see some 11:1 compression and normal aspiration. I'll bet you get turbo numbers easy and improved throttle response. Plus a meaner sound.

Although turbocharging increases torque quit a bit now..........

Its so confusing.

Stevered, WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY, why did you buy a rocket and not a vespa.......because you could that's why. None of us can justify buying a 2300cc bike but it's great we can.......now stop all the negative vibes and read that article on the Turbo again.......you are a believer, now repeat after me i want a Turbo.......

Hey MONK... Read this...
Quote:
...The cylinder bores are close together—so forget about boring your Rocket to Saturn V specs. The pistons' 101.6mm diameter is the same as a Dodge Viper's. To keep the prairie fires burning in those wide-as-South Dakota-sized cylinders, two spark plugs are allotted for each.
Might make it hard to go the old route
