My recent motorcycle ownership history included several Harleys and BMWs. (People used to ask why I owned Harleys and BMWs and I would reply that Harley makes better clothing and BMW makes better motorcycles.) That aside, what motorcycle brands are Rocket III riders trading from to get into a Rocket III?

I came off of a BMW K1200LT, before that a R1150RT, before that a Triumph Trophy 1200, before that a Sprint ST. Along side of my Rocket sits a 2005 Tiger. It feels good to be back 100% Triumph. :-D

What was the Ducati ST4 like? Were the maintenance costs as large as you hear for a desmodromic Duc?

No way I would have traded anything for the Rocket...except my Harley; which as it turned out, nobody wanted anyway, so that was a non-issue in the Rocket's purchase. If I'd had to trade one of the other Triumphs to get it, I'd still be waiting...but instead, GE Capital and I will own it "together" for a few more years.

If you check some of the early threads in this forum, it's clear that more owners came to the Rocket from Hondas (Valkyrie and VTX mainly) than Harleys in the early days. Now, I get the impression people are coming here from all backgrounds.

Von, the Duc ST4 was an absolute blast to ride, the valve adjustments are a bit hairy,$, but my pre-operation carpo didn't like the lean on the wrists. Now I'm fixed, wish I had it again.......
