Seeking advice. 4000k's and right side of rear tyre mid section only is soft, gauging down to nil tread. Rest of tyre near new. What's happening? Some wobble when turning right curves-weird? :???:

You will feel a wobble now because you have squared off the profile on the right side, it happens to me at recetracks ,say Eastern creek you will desroy the left side while the right side is ok, but why it's happened to you on the street i cannot say, unless you spend hours going round the same roundabout scrapin' it Weird!

First thing I'd do id jack bike up on something stable where tires off ground FIRE BIKE UP drop in 2 gear @ idle see if rear tire / rim is wobbling possible tilted or miss aligned.
Could set up pointer close to tire see if out of round or warped.
That's not hard to do & may eliminate what is or is not. Starting point before going to dealer , if spot something
then they can investigate further.
Like using dial indicator to see how many thousandths your
out

Slipped belt??

Whatever it is... I would trailer it or ride very slowly to the dealer and get a new tire... trailer it......

I'm surprised at how well these tires hold up with all the horsepower and torque going thru them.. You would like to see it last a little more than 4000 K. I've never even looked... is there a tire warranty from Metzler on these? If there is I'm sure its pro rated... but hey... they might pay for a part of a new tire.

Keep an eye on the tire and make sure it is not seperating. I had a Bridgestone to come apart, it had knots on the side out far enough to hit the swing arm

If I knew how to post a pic of the tire I would.

Be careful

Many thanks, other half ropable about cost!!! Bike is in moth balls took 2 seconds to decide it was unsafe as last 200 k,s took out half tread width!!! Bairnsdale jdble0something said it all, Dealer 3.5 houirs away, 4 for me,,,sucks alright. I really appreciate people highlighting the risk to me, thanks again, but real risk is if I don,t find out about that marital mediation ....... no rub under gaurd to identify again worn section can be pushed in by hand!!!! also jacking up somehow sounds life threatening in itself! Could get father in law to help (V Rod owner but last we met I let him read the crack this forum about tin foil sound in motor being the vrod shredding its motor trying to keep up!! humble pie and mediation?
